CTA IMPLEMENTS VAN SERVICE FOR CUSTOMERS WITH DISABILITIES WHILE REPAIRS ARE MADE TO O HARE ELEVATOR

September 12, 2003
The elevator leading from the platform to the mezzanine at the Chicago Transit Authority's O'Hare Blue Line station is closed for repairs. As a result, the CTA is providing van service to shuttle customers with disabilities between O'Hare Airport and the Rosemont station, which is one stop away and the nearest accessible rail facility.

The van service will be available from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. for the duration of the repairs, which are expected to be completed by early next week. Customers with disabilities can ask customer assistants and security guards at both stations to make van arrangements on their behalf.

Blue Line rail service to O'Hare is not affected and the escalators at the O'Hare station remain operational.

CTA apologizes for any inconvenience.
