Three Chicago Transit Authority bus routes will be rerouted due to a construction project to reinforce the sewer line beneath North Sheridan Road between Thorndale and Broadway/Devon. The affected routes are the #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, #151 Sheridanand #147 Outer Drive Express.
The City's Department of Water Management will implement the project in four distinct stages from March 3 until the Fourth of July. The project schedule is subject to change based on weather and possible unforeseen challenges. CTA buses will only be rerouted during the two middle stages of the project and those reroutes will only apply to southbound buses.
Regular northbound bus service will be maintained throughout the entire project. The tentative schedule is:
Stage One: March 3 - March 17 No change to CTA service.
Stage Two: March 17 - April 21Southbound CTA buses will travel via Granville to Broadway to Thorndale and back to Sheridan. Southbound bus stops will be:
Sheridan at Granville
Just west of Granville Red Line rail station
Just east of Thorndale Red Line rail station
Thorndale at Sheridan
Stage Three: April 21 - May 30Southbound CTA buses will travel via Broadway to Granville to Sheridan. Southbound bus stops will be:

Stage Four: May 30 - July 4Normal CTA service resumes.
