Job seekers can connect directly with employers offering opportunities across transportation, healthcare, construction, government and other industries
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), in partnership with local government agencies, nonprofit organizations and private-sector employers, will host the Fall 2026 Citywide Career Fair on Wednesday, September 30, at Kennedy-King College on Chicago’s South Side.
The career fair will connect hundreds of job seekers with employers and workforce resources representing a broad range of industries, including transportation, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, security, retail, education, banking and government. Attendees are encouraged to review the list of participating employers at www.chicityclerk.com/citywidecareerfair.

“CTA’s role in Chicago extends beyond providing public transit services—we help connect people to opportunity,” said CTA Acting President Nora Leerhsen. “A strong transit system and a strong workforce go hand-in-hand with a strong city. This career fair brings employers and talented job seekers together, creating pathways to good careers, greater economic opportunity and a stronger future for Chicago and the communities we serve.”
More than 60 employers and resource agencies are expected to participate, representing thousands of available employment opportunities. Several participating employers will conduct on-site interviews and may extend conditional job offers during the event.
“Chicago residents are looking for a break, and at a time when families are facing challenges nationally and here at home, we’re willing to be the leaders who open doors to opportunity and connect our neighborhoods with meaningful careers,” said City Clerk Anna Valencia. “This citywide career fair is about helping people find not just a job, but their passion—unlocking the talent that already exists in our communities and creating pathways for Chicagoans and their families to not only succeed but thrive.”

Participating organizations include CTA, the Office of Chicago City Clerk Anna Valencia, City Colleges of Chicago, Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, Civilian Office of Police Accountability, Skills for Chicagoland’s Future, Illinois Tollway, Pace Suburban Bus, Chicago Police Department and others.
Attendees will be able to connect directly with hiring employers, learn about available positions and explore career pathways across multiple industries. Workforce and resource organizations will also be available to provide information about employment preparation, training and other supportive services.
Job seekers are strongly encouraged to review available positions and apply in advance to increase their chances of securing an interview or conditional offer during the event.
