CTA BUSES SERVE CHICAGO AUTO SHOW AT McCORMICK PLACE FEBRUARY 11 – 20

Three accessible Chicago Transit Authority bus routes will provide service to the 2005 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place South from Friday, February 11 through Sunday, February 20 at all hours the show is open. Service to McCormick Place will begin approximately one hour before the show opens and operate until one hour after the show ends each day.

Buses will operate to McCormick Place directly from Metra stations west of the Loop, from downtown, from North Michigan Avenue, and from the South and West Sides. Customers can transfer to these buses from other bus routes and from all 'L' and subway lines serving downtown.

The three bus routes are:

#3 King Drive buses serve McCormick Place from North Michigan Avenue and the South Side every 6 - 15 minutes.

#21 Cermak buses serve the West Side from the 54th/Cermak terminal of the Blue Line on weekdays and from North Riverside Park Mall on weekends. #21 buses operate daily every 10 - 15 minutes until 6 p.m. and then approximately every 20 minutes until the end of the day. #21 Cermak shuttle buses will operate to the show from the Orange Line Halsted station every 10 - 15 minutes on weekends.

#127 NW/Madison buses serve Gate 26 on the lower level of McCormick Place South from Union Station, the Ogilvie Transportation Center and Washington Street downtown. #127 buses will operate every 10 - 15 minutes on weekdays and every 5 - 15 minutes on weekends.

#127 buses start their trips from Union Station north on Canal at Adams. Stops are made on Canal at both Madison and Washington for the Ogilvie Transportation Center before the buses make regular stops east on Washington, south on Michigan and east on Balbo to Columbus. The buses then run express to McCormick Place. Customers can transfer to #127 buses on Washington from the Blue Line at Dearborn, the Red Line at State, and from Brown, Green and Orange Line trains serving the Madison/Wabash station (one block south of Washington).

Additionally, Red Line customers can transfer to #21 buses at the Cermak-Chinatown station.

Fares are $1.75 ($2 with a transfer) for customers 12 and older. Children seven through 11 pay 85 cents ($1 with a transfer).
