CTA Alerts Chicago Card Plus Customers Who Travel on Pace

Today the Chicago Transit Authority became aware of charges made in error to Chicago Card Plus customer accounts who travel on Pace. A number of customers contacted CTA's Customer Service department on Monday to report additional charges made to their accounts for travel on Pace, which also accepts CTA's Chicago Card Plus.

CTA discovered that a vendor who processes Chicago Card Plus data for the CTA and Pace experienced a software problem that resulted in certain customer accounts receiving new charges for rides which had been paid for previously. This problem only occurred in the accounts of customers who have used their Chicago Card Plus on the Pace system.

The CTA is working with Pace and the vendor to correct the charges and issued an alert to its Chicago Card Plus customers. The incorrect charges are expected to be reversed within a few days. Once CTA has notified customers of the correction, Chicago Card Plus customers are asked to log on to their accounts at www.chicago-card.com to view any adjustments to the account balance.

Customers with questions should e-mail CTA at ctahelp@transitchicago.com or call 1-888-YOUR-CTA
(1-888-968-7282), Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. to speak with a Customer Service representative.
