CTA ADVISES CUSTOMERS ABOUT ELEVATOR REPAIRS AT BROWN LINE WESTERN AVENUE STATION

October 1, 1999
10/01/99

Chicago Transit Authority maintenance crews will be repairing elevators at the Brown Line Western Avenue station from early Saturday, October 2 through early Monday, October 4.

The elevators at Western Avenue leading from street level to the platform will be out of service from 12:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2 through 12:00 a.m. Monday, October 4 while they undergo repairs. While this work is in progress, the Kimball Avenue station will be the alternate accessible station.

The CTA recommends that customers traveling northbound who require the use of an elevator at the Western station ride to the Kimball station, then transfer onto a southbound train or board an eastbound #81 Lawrence bus to the Western Avenue station.

Upon request, Customer Assistants at the Western and Kimball rail stations will issue free transfers to customers with disabilities.

For additional information, customers may call the CTA Customer Service Hotline at 1-888-YOUR-CTA.
