CTA ADDS STOPS FOR RUSH PERIOD BUSES SERVING METRA STATIONS AND MAGNIFICENT MILE

CTA will add stops on two express bus routes that provide weekday rush period service between Metra stations and North Michigan Avenue, starting Monday, January 31. The new stops for #33 Magnificent Mile and #125 Water Tower Express buses will be convenient for customers with destinations just west of Michigan near Ontario or Ohio, and for those connecting with two 'L' lines.

Two stops in each direction are being added for #33 Magnificent Mile Express buses, which serve North Michigan Avenue during morning rush periods. #33 buses begin their inbound trips from the Clybourn station on Metra's Union Pacific North and Northwest Lines at Cortland and Ashland, and from the Western station on the Milwaukee District's North and West Lines near Grand and Western.

For #33 buses starting their trips from the Clybourn station, the first new stop will be made on North Avenue in front of the Red Line subway station just east of Clybourn. The second new stop will be on Ontario at Wabash, just after the buses make their last southbound stop on Michigan at Erie.

For #33 buses leaving Metra's Western station near Grand and Western, the first new stop will be on Grand at Halsted to serve the Blue Line subway station at Grand. The next new stop will be on Ohio at Wabash.

Cash-paying customers who want to transfer to either the Red or Blue Line subway are reminded to pay a regular fare of $1.80 instead of the shuttle fare of $1 when boarding a #33 bus in order to obtain a transfer card from the operator.

CTA's #125 Water Tower Express buses, which serve North Michigan Avenue from Union Station and the Ogilvie Transportation Center (North Western Station) during both morning and afternoon rush periods, will also begin making stops on Ontario and Ohio at Wabash starting Monday, January 31.

Fares on #125 buses are $1 for customers traveling from the Metra stations during morning rush periods and toward the stations in the afternoon. For those heading in the opposite direction, the fare is $1.50.
