As part of its ongoing commitment to an accessible system, the Chicago Transit Authority is seeking nominations to fill three openings on its Americans with Disability Act (ADA) Advisory Committee.

Established in 1993, the ADA Advisory Committee advises the CTA on practices, services and policies related to meeting the transportation needs of customers with disabilities. Although the committee is advisory only, many of its recommendations have been adopted by the CTA. The committee meets bi-monthly on the fourth Thursday of each month at 567 W. Lake from 10 a.m. to noon.

Application information is available on the CTA web site, www.transitchicago.com under Accessible Services. Nomination forms can be obtained at the CTA main office located at 567 W. Lake or by calling CTA Customer Service, 1-888-YOURCTA (1-888-968-7282). The application deadline is September 30.

Nomination forms should be returned to:

Christine Montgomery

The CTA is committed to expanding travel options on its bus and rail system for customers with disabilities. All 154 CTA bus routes are accessible to customers with disabilities. The CTA continues to rehabilitate and rebuild its rail stations to make them accessible. Currently, 74 out of 144 stations on the rail system are accessible and all trains have at least two accessible cars.
