CTA’S CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD AND TRANSIT BOARD TO MEET IN OAK PARK

A joint meeting of the Chicago Transit Board and newly appointed members of the Chicago Transit Authority's Citizens Advisory Board will be held on June 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Oak Park Public Library, Veteran's Room, located at 834 Lake Street. Agenda items include an overview of CTA operations, budget and funding. The meeting is open to the public.

At its June meeting, the Chicago Transit Board appointed 11 new members to the Citizens Advisory Board to help advise the Transit Board on programs and policies that impact communities as part of CTA's ongoing community outreach effort.

?The Citizens Advisory Board is a vital link between the CTA and its customers," said Chicago Transit Board Chairman Carole Brown. ?We are grateful that these individuals from all over the Chicagoland region, including suburbs served by CTA, are offering the CTA their time, and unique and deep expertise. Their contributions and recommendations will assist the CTA in assessing the impact of its policies and programs on the communities we serve."

Members of the Citizens Advisory Board were chosen from throughout the CTA service area. The newly appointed volunteers will serve for two years and meet at least once each quarter with Transit Board members. The new members and their affiliations are:

MarySue Barrett ? President of the Metropolitan Planning Council, former Chief of Policy for Mayor Richard M. Daley and former Citizens Advisory Board member.

Marian Bond ? Former member of the Mayor's Advisory Council on Aging.

Jack Catlin ? Partner in LCM Architects, a firm specializing in accessibility and Americans with Disabilities Act compliance and former Chicago Transit Board member.

Jacquelyne Grimshaw ? Vice President of Policy, Transportation and Community Development at the Center for Neighborhood Technology and former Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Mayor Harold Washington.

Linzey Jones ? President of the Village of Olympia Fields, President of the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association, and member of the Chicago Southland Alliance Board of Directors.

Hipolito Roldan ? President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation and former Citizens Advisory Board member.

Rickey Sain, Sr. " Director of Organization Development for Horizons Community Services.

Donald J. Tabor ? Mayor of the Village of Stickney.

George Van Dusen ? Mayor of the Village of Skokie.

David M. Weinstein ? President of the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center, an arm of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.

Greg White ? Partner in Chicago Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on helping entrepreneurs build successful technology companies.
