CANCELLED: Brown Line Trains Unable to Enter Loop Early Saturday Morning

April 1, 2010

NOTE: as of Friday, April 2, this work has been cancelled.

Brown Line trains will be unable to enter the Loop from 5 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, due to structural maintenance work on the Wells Street Bridge.

During this time, shuttle buses will replace rail service between the Merchandise Mart and the Clark/Lake stations. Customers can use Orange, Green and Pink line trains to travel between Clark/Lake and other Loop stations.

A shuttle train also will operate around the Loop, counterclockwise via the Outer Loop (Brown Line) tracks.

Customers can use the Red Line subway for alternate service to and from downtown. Free transfers between Red and Brown line trains can be made at the Belmont and Fullerton stations.

Brown Line trains will operate normally between the Kimball and Merchandise Mart stations.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. Operators will announce the route and direction of each train.
