On Tuesday, December 2 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Washington Street will be closed from Clark to Dearborn for the 95th annual tree lighting ceremony at Daley Plaza. Additional street closures may be necessary to accommodate crowds.
During this time, the following nine CTA bus routes will be temporarily detoured to nearby streets:
Eastbound #20 Madison and #X20 Washington/Madison Express buses and southbound #56 Milwaukee buses will travel over their regular routes along Washington to Wacker then will operate via Wacker, Monroe, Michigan to Madison and then resume their regular routes. Westbound #20 and #X20 and northbound #56 buses are not affected and will operate over the regular route.
Southbound #22 Clark and #24 Wentworth buses will travel over their regular routes along Clark to Randolph then will operate via Randolph, LaSalle, Monroe to Clark and then resume their regular routes. Northbound #24 buses are not affected and will travel the regular route.
Northbound #22 Clark, #36 Broadway and #62 Archer buses will travel over their regular routes along Dearborn to Monroe then will operate via Monroe, State, Wacker to Dearborn and then resume their regular routes. Southbound #36 and #62 buses are not affected and will operate over their regular routes.
Eastbound #124 Navy Pier and northbound #157 Streeterville buses will operate over their regular routes along Washington to Wacker then will travel via Wacker, Wacker Place to South Water and then resume their regular routes. Westbound #124 and southbound #157 buses are not affected and will operate over their regular routes.
