Brad Jansen Named Acting General Counsel

The Chicago Transit Board today approved the appointment of Brad Jansen as Acting General Counsel.

In his capacity as Acting General Counsel, Jansen will manage and direct the activities of CTA’s General Attorney Division related to contracts or agreements to be entered into by the CTA; provide legal counsel to the Chairman and President; and meet with officials from local and state governmental agencies involving matters and legislation affecting the CTA.
 
Jansen has been with CTA since 1996, most recently serving as Acting Deputy General Counsel – Labor, Policy and Appeals. Jansen also served as Managing Attorney, Labor, Policy and Appeals at CTA. Previous positions at CTA include Deputy General Counsel – Labor; Managing Attorney – General Law; and Chief Attorney – Corporate Law.
 
Prior to joining CTA, Jansen was Senior Attorney, Litigation Service Section at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Chicago. He also has held the title of Associate, Litigation Department at Greenberger, Kraus & Jacobs, Chtd; Lurie, Sklar & Simon, Ltd; and Friedman & Koven law firms all in Chicago.
 
Jansen also served as Adjunct Professor, Lawyering Skills Program at John Marshall Law School and currently serves as Adjunct Professor, Paralegal Studies Program a Roosevelt University in Chicago.
 
He earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
 
Jansen replaces Kent Ray who is joining the State’s Attorney’s office.
