Blue Line Service from Clark/Lake to Division Suspended this Weekend for Signal Upgrade Work

November 20, 2008

Rail service between the Clark/Lake and Division Blue Line subway stations will be temporarily suspended from 9 p.m. Friday, November 21 to 3 a.m. Monday, November 24, while crews replace deteriorated rail ties and continue installation of a new signal system.

Bus shuttles will operate as a substitute for rail service between the Clark/Lake and Division stations.

Alternate Service for Customers with Disabilities
CTA also will operate an additional bus shuttle because the Division station is not equipped with an elevator and the elevators at the Clark/Lake are temporarily unavailable due to repair work. Southbound customers who need an elevator to access rail service should board the CTA shuttle bus at Western, which then will proceed directly to the accessible Jackson station.

Rather than exiting at Clark/Lake, northbound customers who need an elevator are advised to travel to Jackson where they can board a CTA shuttle bus to the accessible Western station.

Customers should allow extra travel time.
