As We Fall Headfirst Into Fall CTA is Your Best Way to Get to All Events Large or Small

September 25, 2025

CTA’s trains and buses will get you to various sporting events, concerts, and the Lifetime Chicago Half Marathon & 5K in Jackson Park; Weekend construction work to impact the Green Line

As the leaves begin to change and the new season takes hold, let CTA be your ride to work, school and other appointments. Customers can save money by purchasing an unlimited rides pass, either the 1-Day ($5) – far more economical and convenient than the price of gas and parking - or the 3-Day ($15) pass – a real budget-saving move.

Construction Work to Temporarily Impact Green Line Service

  • Between 4:30 a.m. on Sat. 9/27 and 2:30 a.m. on Mon. 9/29, the Austin Green Line station will temporarily close, and a shuttle train will operate between Harlem/Lake and Laramie. (More details)
  • Green Line shuttle trains will bypass the Austin station.
  • Board/exit all trains on the Harlem-bound side of the platform at the Oak Park, Ridgeland and Central stations.
  • A free bus shuttle will operate between the Austin and Laramie stations.
  • This service change is occurring because CTA is installing an elevator at the Austin Green Line station as part of CTA’s All Stations Accessibility Program (ASAP) to improve system accessibility across the city and neighboring communities we serve.
