Buses Detoured Near Daley Plaza for Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid Live Viewing Event on Friday 09/30/2009

From 8 p.m. Thursday, October 1 until 4 p.m. Friday, October 2, Clark Street between Randolph and Washington will be closed to all traffic due to the Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid Live Viewing event at Daley Plaza. Rail Service Temporarily Suspended in Blue Line’s Dearborn Subway This Weekend 09/24/2009

CTA Schedules Public Meetings for the Proposed Circle Line 09/24/2009

The Chicago Transit Authority will hold a third round of public meetings this month to receive input on the proposed Circle Line project. The meetings are part of the Alternatives Analysis study – the first step in pursuing federal funding for major transit projects. The Alternatives Analysis study is designed to examine all the transit options available and determine a Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA). Delivery of 58 Stimulus-Funded Hybrid Buses Complete 09/18/2009

The Chicago Transit Authority today announced that all 58 articulated hybrid buses purchased by the agency with federal stimulus funds have arrived and are in service. The CTA now has 208 articulated hybrid buses in its fleet. The CTA estimates that the hybrid technology will help save the agency over $7 million annually in parts, labor and fuel. CTA to Host Public Meeting for Proposed Yellow Line Extension 09/17/2009

The Chicago Transit Authority is inviting the public to a meeting to provide input on the proposed Yellow Line extension.
