Improvements to Belmont Blue Station Require Weekend Closures During March
Improvements and upgrades associated with the Your New Blue Modernization Program will require the temporary closure of the Belmont Blue Line station during various weekends in March and early April.

  • From 10 p.m. Friday, March 8 until 4 a.m. Monday, March 11
  • From 10 p.m. Friday, March 15 until 4 a.m. Monday, March 18
  • From 10 p.m. Friday, March 22 until 4 a.m. Monday, March 25
  • From 10 p.m. Friday, March 29 until 4 a.m. Monday, April 1

During these temporary weekend station closures, a free bus shuttle service will operate between the Belmont and Logan Square stations. CTA encourages customers to allow for extra time, especially the weekends of St. Patrick’s Day and the Shamrock Shuffle when additional riders are anticipated.

These weekend closures will allow crews to perform ongoing station improvement work, including the construction of a steel canopy that will cover the station entrance and bus boarding area. Additional improvements to the Belmont Station include new signage, replacement of the platform surface at track level, electrical upgrades, replacement of the concrete in the bus turnaround and other aesthetic improvements.
