Additional Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of August 26 - 28

Columbus Drive Closes for Triathlon Beginning SaturdayColumbus will be closed between Roosevelt and Balbo from 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27 until 7 p.m. Sunday, August 28 for the Accenture Chicago Triathlon. The setup takes place Saturday and the events take place on Sunday. Beginning Saturday, northbound #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express, #130 Grant Park Treasures and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate via Columbus, Roosevelt to Michigan, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Michigan, Roosevelt to Columbus, then resume the regular route.

Sunday's triathlon activities will begin at 6:30 a.m. During the running and biking portions of the race, there may be intermittent service delays or temporary reroutes on the above listed routes.

Halsted Closes for Taste of Greece Beginning SaturdayHalsted will be closed between Monroe and Van Buren from 4:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27 until 2 a.m. Monday, August 29. Northbound #8 Halsted buses will operate via Halsted, Harrison, Jefferson, Madison, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Halsted, Madison, Desplaines, Harrison, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.

Eastbound #126 Jackson buses will operate via Jackson, Morgan, Van Buren, Jefferson, back to Jackson, then resume the regular route. Westbound service will not be affected.

#78 Montrose Buses Will Not Serve Montrose Beach SaturdaySimonds Drive will be closed between Foster and Montrose from 6 a.m. until noon Saturday, August 27 for the McDonald's Kid's Fleet Feet Super Sprint Triathlon. During this time, #78 Montrose buses will only travel as far as Wilson/Marine and not enter Montrose Beach.
