New/Updated Changes in Bus Service

Filming of “Transformers 3” Detours Four Routes This Weekend

Four CTA bus routes will be temporarily rerouted this weekend as filming for the “Transformers 3” movie continues. From 8 p.m. Friday, July 30 until 5 a.m. Monday, August 2, Wacker Drive between State and Michigan will be closed, resulting in the reroute of #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #124 Navy Pier and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses.
 
Southbound #6, #10 and #146 buses will travel over their regular routes to Michigan/Wacker then will operate via Michigan, Randolph to State and then resume their regular routes. Northbound #6 and #146 buses are not affected and will travel over their regular routes.
 
Northbound #10 buses will operate over the regular route along State to Lake then will travel via Lake to Michigan and then resume the regular route past South Water.
 
Eastbound #124 buses will travel over the regular route along Wacker to State then will travel via State, Washington, Michigan, Randolph to Columbus and then resume the regular route past South Water.
 
Westbound #124 buses will operate over the regular route along Columbus past South Water to Columbus then will travel via Columbus, Randolph to Michigan and then resume the regular route.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
 

The South Shore Triathlon and Multisport Event Detours Four Routes on Saturday

From 5 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, the northbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive between 67th Street and 31st Street will be closed to all traffic for the South Shore Triathlon and Multisport Event. Due to these lane closures, four CTA routes will be detoured to adjacent streets.
 
Northbound #6 Jackson Park Express buses will travel over the regular route along Lake Park to 47th Street then will operate via 47th Street, King Drive, 31st Street to Lake Shore Drive and then resume the regular route. Southbound #6 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
 
Northbound #14 Jeffery Express buses will operate over the regular route along Jeffery to 67th Street then will travel via 67th Street, King Drive, 31st Street to Lake Shore Drive and then resume the regular route. Southbound #14 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
 
Eastbound #63 63rd buses operating to the 63rd Street Beach will travel 63rd Street/Stony Island before turning to begin westbound service. Westbound #63 buses will travel over the regular route.
 
Eastbound #67 67th/69th/71st buses will travel over the regular route along 67th Street past Jeffery to the terminal at 67th Street/South Shore before beginning westbound service. Westbound #67 buses will travel over the regular route.
