Red Line – Other Events Affecting Service
CANCELLED: Late Night Trains to Operate on a Single Track in the State Street Subway Next Week
The routing of all Red Line trains to operate on the southbound (to 95th/Dan Ryan) tracks between the Armitage and Clark/Division stations on Wednesday night, July 21 and Thursday night, July 22, has been cancelled.
Red Line trains will operate normally in the State Street subway next week.
New/Updated Changes in Bus Service
“Transformers 3” Filming Reroutes 13 Downtown Bus Routes Next Week
Thirteen CTA bus routes will be detoured in the downtown area due to the temporary closure of Wacker Drive between Michigan and Wabash as filming of the “Transformers 3” movie continues next week. The following reroutes will go into effect at 5 a.m. Monday, July 19 until 5 a.m. Thursday, July 22:
#2 Hyde Park Express and #10 Museum of Science & Industry
Northbound #2 and #10 buses will travel over their regular routes along State to Lake then will operate via Lake to Michigan and then resume their regular routes north on Michigan past South Water.
Southbound #2 and #10 buses will travel over their regular routes along Michigan past Wacker to Randolph then will operate via Randolph to State and then resume their regular routes.
#6 Jackson Park Express (Southbound Only)
Southbound #6 buses will operate over the regular route along Wacker to Michigan then will travel via Michigan, Randolph to State and then resume the regular route. Northbound #6 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
#122 Illinois Center/Ogilvie Express and #123 Illinois Center/Union Express
Eastbound #122 and #123 buses will travel over their regular routes along Wacker to State then will operate via State, Washington, Michigan to Randolph before turning to begin westbound service.
From Randolph/Field, westbound #122 and #123 buses will travel west on Randolph to State then will operate via State to Wacker and then resume their regular routes.
#124 Navy Pier
Eastbound #124 buses will travel over the regular route along Wacker to Dearborn then will operate via Dearborn to Illinois and then resume the regular route east on Illinois past Columbus.
Westbound #124 buses will travel over the regular route along Grand past Columbus to Clark then will operate via Clark, Wacker, State to Madison and then resume the regular route.
#134 Stockton/LaSalle Express, #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express and #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express (Southbound Only)
Southbound #134, #135 and #136 buses will operate over their regular routes along Wacker to Columbus then will travel via Columbus, Randolph, Dearborn to Wacker and then resume their regular routes. Northbound #134, #135 and #136 buses are not affected and will travel over their regular routes.
#144 Marine/Michigan Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express (Southbound Only)
Southbound #144 and #146 buses will travel over their regular routes along Michigan past Wacker to Randolph then will operate via Randolph to State and then resume their regular routes. Northbound #144 and #146 buses are not affected and will travel over their regular routes.
