On Sunday, August 14 from 3 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m., 25 CTA bus routes will be detoured due to the closure of Balbo Drive between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive and Columbus Drive between Roosevelt and Balbo for the annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon. The following routes will be detoured to adjacent streets to maintain service during this time:

Before and After the Race
From approximately 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. and then again from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., buses operating along the #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #14 Jeffery Express buses will be temporarily rerouted as follows:
Northbound #6, #10 and #14 buses will travel over their regular routes along Columbus to Roosevelt then will operate via Roosevelt to Michigan and then resume their regular routes past Balbo. Southbound #6, #10 and #14 buses will travel the reverse route.
During the Race
From 6 a.m. until approximately 9:30 a.m. the following reroutes will be in effect:
Southbound Service to the Loop
In general, customers traveling to the Loop or the downtown area via southbound
#22 Clark, #36 Broadway, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express buses will need to exit at Dearborn/Monroe and transfer to the Red or Blue line subways to continue the remainder of the trip.
#8 Halsted
Southbound #8 buses will travel over the regular route along Halsted to Madison then will operate via Madison, Ashland, Harrison to Halsted and then resume the regular route. Northbound #8 buses will travel the reverse route.
#10 Museum of Science & Industry
Southbound #10 buses will operate over the regular route along Michigan to Ontario then will travel via Ontario, Wells, Grand, Ashland, Harrison, State, 35th Street, King Drive, 47th Street to Lake Shore Drive and then resume the regular route.
Northbound #10 buses will travel over the regular route along Lake Shore Drive to 47th Street then will operate via 47th Street, King Drive, 35th Street, State, Harrison, Ashland, Grand, Orleans, Ohio to Michigan and then resume the regular route.
#56 Milwaukee
Southbound #56 buses will operate over the regular route along Milwaukee to Grand then will travel via Grand, Wells, Illinois, Clark, Monroe, Dearborn to Washington before beginning northbound service.
From Dearborn/Washington, northbound #56 buses will travel north on Dearborn to Grand then will operate via Grand to Milwaukee and resume the regular route.
#151 Sheridan
Southbound #151 buses will operate over the regular route along Michigan to Ontario then will travel via Ontario, Clark, Washington, Franklin, Monroe to Wells before beginning northbound service.
From Monroe/Wells, northbound #151 buses will travel east on Monroe to Dearborn then will operate via Dearborn, Ohio to Michigan and then resume the regular route.
Northbound and Eastbound Service to the Loop
In general, customers traveling to the Loop or downtown area via northbound #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jackson Park Express, #14 Jeffery Express, #29 State and #62 Archer buses and eastbound #12 Roosevelt and #18 16th/18th buses will need to exit at State/Roosevelt and transfer to either the Red, Green or Orange lines to continue the remainder of the trip.
#20 Madison
Eastbound #20 buses will operate over the regular route along Halsted past Washington to Grand then will travel via Grand, Wells, Illinois, Clark, Monroe, Dearborn to Washington before beginning westbound service.
From Dearborn/Washington, westbound #20 buses will travel north on Dearborn to Grand then will operate via Grand, Halsted to Madison and then resume the regular route.
#21 Cermak
Eastbound #21 buses will travel east to the Cermak-Chinatown Red Line station before turning to begin westbound service. Westbound buses will depart from the Cermak-Chinatown station and travel west on Cermak over the regular route.
#60 Blue Island/26th
Eastbound #60 buses will travel to Canal/Van Buren before turning to begin westbound service. Customers traveling to the Loop or downtown area will need to exit at Harrison/Clinton and transfer to the Blue Line for the remainder of the trip.
Westbound #60 buses will depart from the bus terminal at Harrison/Desplaines and travel west on Harrison over the regular route.
#65 Grand
Eastbound #65 buses will operate over the regular route along Grand to Orleans then will travel via Orleans, Ohio, McClurg to Illinois and then resume the regular route.
Westbound #65 buses will travel over the regular route along Grand to McClurg then will operate via McClurg, Ontario, Wells to Grand and then resume the regular route.
#66 Chicago
Eastbound #66 buses will operate over the regular route along Fairbanks to Ohio then will travel via Ohio, McClurg to Illinois and then resume the regular route.
Westbound #66 buses will travel over the regular route along Grand to McClurg then will operate via McClurg, Ontario to Fairbanks and then resume the regular route.
#124 Navy Pier
Westbound #124 buses will operate over the regular route along Grand to McClurg then will travel via McClurg, Ontario, Wells, Grand, Ashland, Harrison, Canal to Van Buren before beginning eastbound service.
From Canal/Van Buren, eastbound #124 buses will travel west on Van Buren to Ashland then will operate via Ashland, Grand, Orleans, Ohio, McClurg to Illinois and then resume the regular route.
#126 Jackson
Eastbound #126 buses will travel over the regular route along Harrison past Ashland to Canal then will operate via Canal to Van Buren before beginning westbound service. Westbound buses will operate west on Van Buren over the regular route.
#130 Museum Campus
From Van Buren/Canal, eastbound #130 buses will travel west on Van Buren to Clinton then will operate via Clinton, Harrison, State, Roosevelt to the Roosevelt Red, Green and Orange line station before turning to begin westbound service.
From the Roosevelt station, westbound #130 buses will operate via Roosevelt, Wabash, 11th Street, State, Van Buren to Canal before beginning eastbound service.
