22 CTA Bus Routes Detoured on Sunday for the Rock ‘N’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon

On Sunday, August 2 from 3 a.m. until 3 p.m., Balbo Drive between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive and Columbus Drive between Roosevelt and Balbo will be closed to all traffic for the inaugural Rock ‘N’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon.
 
The race will step-off at 6:30 a.m. from Columbus/Congress and will conclude in Grant Park at approximately 9:30 a.m.  During this time, the following 22 CTA bus routes will be detoured to adjacent streets to maintain service:

  • #4 Cottage Grove
  • #60 Blue Island/26th
  • #6 Jackson Park Express
  • #62 Archer
  • #10 Museum of Science & Industry
  • #65 Grand
  • #12 Roosevelt
  • #66 Chicago
  • #14 Jeffery Express
  • #124 Navy Pier
  • #18 16th/18th
  • #126 Jackson
  • #20 Madison
  • #145 Wilson/Michigan Express
  • #22 Clark
  • #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express
  • #29 State
  • #147 Outer Drive Express
  • #36 Broadway
#151 Sheridan
 
CTA is advising customers to allow extra travel time. 
 
To speed travel, spectators and participants using public transportation to and from the event are encouraged to buy farecards in advance with sufficient value or to add enough value to their existing farecards (either the Chicago Card or magnetic strip farecard) for their return trips later in the day.
 
Estimated arrival times for buses that are temporarily rerouted will not be available via the Bus Tracker web site.
