Effective at the start of service on Tuesday, July 5, 14 CTA bus routes that operate in the downtown area near Wacker Drive and Madison will undergo service changes, as Stage II of the Wacker Drive construction project begins.
Construction on Wacker Drive will result in changes along the following routes:
CTA information specialists are at select locations alerting customers to these upcoming changes in service. In addition, alerts posted at bus stops in the downtown area along all affected routes inform customers of the upcoming changes.
Routing for northbound and southbound #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses will not be affected and buses will continue to travel over the regular route.
Northbound #14 Jeffery Express buses will travel over the regular route along Michigan to Madison then will operate via Madison, Dearborn, Randolph, Desplaines to Washington before beginning southbound service.
Southbound #14 buses will operate along the regular route.
#19 United Center Express
Westbound #19 United Center Express buses will operate over the regular route along Madison to Franklin then will travel via Franklin to Randolph and resume the regular route.
Eastbound #19 buses will no longer be rerouted and will resume traveling east on Washington over the regular route.
Bus Stop Changes – Westbound Service
The following changes will be made to stops served by westbound #19 buses:
- Madison/Wacker: the westbound far side stop will be temporarily removed from service.
- Madison/Clinton: the westbound near side stop will be temporarily removed from service.
- Randolph/Wacker: buses will begin serving the westbound near side stop.
- Randolph/Canal: buses will begin serving the westbound near side stop.
- Randolph/Jefferson: buses will begin serving the new westbound near side stop.
Bus Stop Changes – Eastbound Service
The following changes will be made to stops served by eastbound #19 buses:
- Monroe/Canal: the temporary eastbound far side stop will be removed from service.
- Clinton/Madison: the temporary southbound near side stop will be removed from service.
- Washington/Canal: buses will resume serving the eastbound near side stop.
- Washington/State: buses will resume serving the eastbound far side stop.
#20 Madison
Westbound #20 Madison buses will travel over the regular route along Madison to Franklin then will operate via Franklin, Randolph, Clinton to Madison and then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #20 buses will no longer be rerouted and will resume traveling east on Washington over the regular route.

The following changes will be made to stops served by westbound #20 buses:
- Madison/Wacker: the westbound far side stop will be temporarily removed from service.
- Madison/Clinton: the westbound near side stop will be temporarily removed from service.
- Randolph/Wacker: buses will begin serving the westbound near side stop.
- Clinton/Washington: buses will begin serving the southbound near side stop.
- Clinton/Madison: buses will begin serving the southbound near side stop.

- Washington/Canal: buses will resume serving the eastbound near side stop.
- Monroe/Canal: the temporary eastbound far side stop will be removed from service.
- Clinton/Madison: the temporary southbound near side stop will be removed from service.
#56 Milwaukee
Southbound #56 Milwaukee buses will no longer be rerouted and will resume traveling over the regular route east on Washington to Michigan, south on Michigan to Madison, west on Madison to Wabash before beginning northbound service.
Northbound #56 buses will operate over the regular route along Madison to LaSalle then will travel via LaSalle, Randolph to Jefferson and then resume the regular route.

The following changes will be made to stops served by northbound #56 buses:
- Westbound Stops on Madison: the westbound stops along Madison at Wells, Wacker and Clinton will be temporarily removed from service.
- Jefferson/Washington: the northbound near side stop will be removed from service.
- Randolph/Wells: buses will begin serving the westbound far side stop.
- Randolph/Wacker: buses will begin serving the westbound near side stop.
- Randolph/Canal: buses will begin serving the new westbound near side stop.

The following changes will be made to stops served by southbound #56 buses:
- Eastbound Stops on Washington: buses will resume serving the eastbound stops along Washington at Canal, LaSalle, Dearborn, State and Wabash.
- Clinton/Madison: the temporary southbound near side stop will be removed from service.
- Eastbound Stops on Monroe: the temporary eastbound stops along Monroe at Canal, Franklin, LaSalle, Wabash and the temporary mid-block stop between Dearborn and State will be removed from service.
#60 Blue Island/26th
Eastbound #60 Blue Island/26th buses will no longer be rerouted and will resume traveling north on Canal to Washington and east on Washington over the regular route.
Westbound #60 buses will travel over the regular route along Randolph to Michigan and then will travel via Randolph, Clinton to Madison and resume regular route south on Clinton.

The following changes will be made to stops served by westbound #60 buses:
- Michigan/Washington: the southbound near side stop will be temporarily removed from service.
- Westbound Stops on Madison: the westbound stops along Madison at Wabash, State, Clark, Wells, Wacker and Canal will be temporarily removed from service.
- Randolph/Michigan: buses will begin serving the new westbound far side stop between Michigan and Wabash.
- Randolph/State: buses will begin serving the new westbound far side stop.
- Randolph/Clark: buses will begin serving the westbound near side stop.
- Randolph/Wells: buses will begin serving the westbound far side stop.
- Randolph/Wacker: buses will begin serving the westbound near side stop.
- Clinton/Washington: buses will begin serving the southbound near side stop.
- Clinton/Madison: buses will begin serving the southbound near side stop.

The following changes will be made to stops served by eastbound #60 buses:
- Canal/Washington: buses will resume serving the northbound near side stop.
- Canal/Madison: buses will resume serving the northbound far side stop.
#120 Ogilvie/Wacker Express
Westbound #120 Ogilvie/Wacker Express buses will travel along Grand past Michigan to Wabash then will operate via Wabash, Wacker, Randolph to Canal before beginning eastbound service.
Eastbound #120 buses will return to normal routing and will travel over the regular route along Canal to Washington then will travel via Washington, Franklin to Post and then resume the regular route on Lower Wacker.
Bus Stop Changes – Westbound Service Only
The following bus stop changes will be in effect for westbound #120 buses:
- Franklin/Randolph: the temporary southbound near side stop will be removed from service.
- Madison/Canal: the temporary westbound near side stop will be removed from service.
- Canal between Randolph and Washington (Ogilvie Center): buses will begin serving the southbound mid-block stop on Canal between Randolph and Washington.
#121 Union/Wacker Express
Westbound #121 Union/Wacker Express buses will operate along Grand past Michigan to Wabash then will travel via Wabash to Upper Wacker and then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #121 buses are unaffected and will continue to travel over the regular route.
#122 Illinois Center/Ogilvie Express
Westbound #122 Illinois Center/Ogilvie Express buses will resume normal routing and will operate via Wacker, Randolph to Canal before beginning eastbound service.
Eastbound #122 buses will resume normal routing along Canal to Washington and then travel via Washington, Franklin to Wacker and then resume the regular route.
Bus Stop Changes – Eastbound Service
The following changes will be made to stops served by eastbound #122 buses:
- Wacker/Lake: the eastbound far side stop will be removed from service
- Canal between Randolph and Washington (Ogilvie Center): buses will begin serving the southbound mid-block stop on Canal between Randolph and Washington
- Franklin/Wacker: buses will begin serving the northbound mid-block stop on Franklin between Lake and Wacker.

The following changes will be made to stops served by westbound #122 buses:
- Wacker/Orleans-Franklin: buses will resume serving the westbound far side stop.
- Wacker/Randolph: buses will resume serving the southbound near side stop.
- Madison/Canal: the temporary westbound near side stop will be removed from service.
- Franklin/Randolph: the temporary southbound near side stop will be removed from service.
#123 Illinois Center/Union Express
Both eastbound and westbound #123 Illinois Center/Union Express buses will maintain the reroutes that are currently in effect.
Westbound #123 buses are traveling over the regular route along Wacker Drive to Franklin then operating via Franklin, Adams, Clinton to Jackson before beginning eastbound service.
Eastbound buses are continuing east on Jackson to Franklin then traveling via Franklin to Wacker and resuming the regular route.
#124 Navy Pier
Westbound #124 Navy Pier buses will travel over the regular route along Michigan to Randolph then will operate via Randolph, Clinton to Union Station before turning to begin eastbound service.
From Union Station, eastbound #124 buses will resume normal routing along Canal to Washington and then travel via Washington, Franklin to Wacker and then resume the regular route.

The following changes will be made to stops served by westbound #124 buses:
- Michigan/Washington: the southbound near side stop will be temporarily removed from service.
- Westbound Stops on Madison: the westbound stops along Madison at Clark, Wells, Wacker and Canal will be temporarily removed from service.
- Randolph/State: buses will begin serving the new westbound far side stop.
- Randolph/Clark: buses will begin serving the westbound near side stop.
- Randolph/Wells: buses will begin serving the westbound far side stop.

Westbound #157 Streeterville/Taylor buses will travel over the regular route along Michigan to Randolph then will operate via Randolph to Clinton and then resume the regular route south on Clinton past Madison.
Eastbound #157 buses will resume normal routing and operate north on Canal to Washington and east on Washington over the regular route.

The following changes will be made to stops served by westbound #157 buses:
- Michigan/Washington: the southbound near side stop will be temporarily removed from service.
- Westbound Stops on Madison: the westbound stops along Madison at Wabash, State, Clark, Wells, Wacker and Canal will be temporarily removed from service.
- Randolph/Michigan: buses will begin serving the new westbound far side stop between Michigan and Wabash.
- Randolph/State: buses will begin serving the new westbound far side stop.

RESTORATION OF SERVICE
With the reopening of Washington and Randolph streets, the following bus routes will resume normal operations
#125 Water Tower Express
Southbound #125 Water Tower Express buses will resume normal routing operating south on Wacker to Randolph and west on Randolph to Clinton and resume the regular route south.
Northbound #125 buses remain unaffected and will travel over the regular route.
Bus Stop Changes – Southbound Service
The following changes will be made to stops served by southbound #125 buses:
- Clinton/Randolph: the temporary southbound near side stop will be removed from service.
- Wacker/Randolph: southbound buses will resume serving the near side stop.
Bus Stop Changes – Northbound Service
The following changes will be made to stops served by northbound #125 buses:
- Canal/Lake: northbound buses will resume serving the near side stop.
#129 West Loop/South Loop – AM Rush Period Service
During the morning rush period, northbound #129 West Loop/South Loop buses will resume normal routing via Dearborn, Randolph to Clinton over the regular route.
Southbound #129 buses are unaffected and will continue to travel over the regular route during the morning rush period.
Bus Stop Changes – Northbound Service Only
The following changes will be made to stops served by northbound #129 buses during the morning rush period only:
- Westbound Stops on Madison: the temporary westbound stops along Madison at Clark, Wells and Wacker will be removed from service.
- Northbound Stops on Canal: the temporary northbound stops along Canal at Washington and Madison will be removed from service.
- Randolph/Clark: buses will resume serving the westbound near side stop.

#129 West Loop/South Loop – PM Rush Period Service
During the evening rush period, southbound #129 West Loop/South Loop buses will resume normal routing via Canal, Washington to Clark over the regular route.
Northbound #129 buses are unaffected and will travel over the regular route during the evening rush period.

The following changes will be made to stops served by southbound #129 buses during the evening rush period only:
- Eastbound Stops on Monroe: the temporary eastbound stops along Monroe at LaSalle, Franklin and Canal will be removed from service.
