Red, Brown and Purple Line Express Service Affected at Clark Junction 4:16 p.m.

June 12, 2004
4:16 p.m.

CTA is experiencing significant delays in the Clark Junction area (where Red, Brown and Purple Line trains converge just north of Belmont).

Due to these delays, Purple Line Express service for this evening's RUSH period is cancelled. Local Purple Line service between Linden and Howard will still operate.

Red and Brown Line service continues to operate but with the delays mentioned above.

Also to help alleviate the congestion, CTA will run a bus shuttle nonstop from Belmont to Howard for those who normally take the Purple Line Express.

Customers are encouraged to take alternate north/south bus routes north out of the Loop: #36 Broadway, #134 Stockton/LaSalle Express, #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express, #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, #143 Stockton/Michigan Express, #144 Marine/Michigan Express, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express, #151 Sheridan and #156 LaSalle buses.

Extra CTA personnel will be at Loop stations to direct customers.

Thank you for your patience.
