QUNICY/WELLS ‘L’ STATION REOPENS MONDAY WITH COMPLETION OF STREET WORK BELOW

February 11, 2000
02/11/00

Trains on CTA's Brown, Orange and Purple Express Lines will make regular stops at the Quincy/Wells Loop 'L' station starting Monday, February 14. The station has been closed since a water main break disrupted traffic last Monday. Although 'L' service was restored on Tuesday, trains have been bypassing the station while repairs were being made on the street below.

To accommodate Orange Line customers who ordinarily use the Quincy station on Sundays, the nearby Washington/Wells station will remain open from 7:20 a.m. until 11:55 p.m. Sunday, February 13. The Washington/Wells station is normally closed on Sundays and holidays.

With the reopening of Wells to street traffic, CTA's #37 Sedgwick/Ogden rush-period buses will resume their regular routing south on Wells to Harrison. Since Wells was closed at Adams last Monday, #37 buses have been detoured off Wells via Wacker to Harrison.
