Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Chicago Transit Authority
2010 Capital Program of Projects,
2010 Operating Budget and Program,
the Financial Plan for 2011 and 2012
and
Proposed Changes to Fares and Service

Notice is hereby given that the Chicago Transit Authority Board desires public comment before it considers an ordinance to adopt the 2010 Operating Budget and Program, the 2010 Capital Program of Projects, the Financial Plan for 2011 and 2012, and a proposed fare increase and service reductions. A public hearing will be conducted on Monday November 2, 2009 at 6:00 PM at Lane Technical High School located at 2501 West Addison Street, Chicago, Illinois 60618 and on Tuesday November 3, 2009 at 6:00 PM at the South Shore Cultural Center located at 7059 South Shore Drive Chicago, Illinois 60649. In addition to these two official public hearings, the Chicago Transit Authority will hold an informational meeting on the proposed fare increase and service reduction on Thursday October 29, 2009 at 6:00 PM at the Austin Town Hall located at 5610 West Lake Street, Chicago, Illinois 60644. These facilities are accessible to people with disabilities.

Be advised that, as to the Capital Program of Projects, the Chicago Transit Authority is seeking financial assistance from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the United States Department of Transportation under the Federal Transit Act of 1964, as amended, and related statutes; the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) under the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois (Part 8.5) and related statutes; and the Northeastern Illinois Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) under the Regional Transportation Authority Act. If the following program does not change then it will be considered the FY 2009 Final Program of Projects. This notice is to meet the requirements of the FTA, IDOT, and the RTA.
