CTA Issues Commemorative Farecard in Honor of the Crosstown Series
The Chicago Transit Authority today announced commemorative farecards issued in honor of the 2010 Cubs versus White Sox crosstown series will become available on Tuesday, June 1.
The limited edition cards will be dispensed from farecard vending machines at all CTA rail stations for as long as supplies last.
Chicago artist Steve Musgrave designed the farecard. Musgrave also designed commemorative posters that will be distributed at the CTA Red Line station near the ballpark during the series. The posters also are available while supplies last.
This year’s crosstown games will take place at Wrigley Field June 11-13 and at U.S. Cellular Field June 25-27.
Since the program began in 1998, the commemorative posters and farecards have become a one-of-a-kind collectible item for fans. Musgrave also has several murals featuring Cubs legends on display at the Addison station, which he adopted as part of the CTA's Adopt-A-Station program in 1998.
