Weekend Construction Closes Western and California from 19th to 21st Construction on the Cermak (Douglas) branch of the Blue Line will close Western between 19th and 21st Streets from 8 p.m. Friday, December 6 until midnight Sunday, December 8. #49 Western and X49 Western Express buses will be detoured off Western via Cermak, Hoyne and 19th to Western in both directions. California will be closed between 19th and 21st from 2 p.m. Saturday until midnight Sunday, detouring #94 South California buses off California via Cermak, Marshall, Sacramento and Ogden to California in both directions.
Construction Closes Central Park Saturday from Cermak to Ogden Construction on the Cermak (Douglas) branch of the Blue Line will close Central Park between Cermak and Ogden Saturday, December 7 from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. #82 Kimball/Homan buses will be detoured off Central Park in both directions via Cermak, Kedzie and 16th to Central Park.
Track Work Saturday Morning Affects Red Line Trains Leaving Howard Track work will require southbound Red Line trains leaving Howard to bypass stations at Jarvis, Morse and Loyola from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday, December 7. Customers intending to board southbound trains at those stations should take a northbound train to Howard and change to a southbound train. Customers intending to exit at one of those stops should ride south to Granville and change to a northbound train.
Kwanza Parade Affects King Drive, 75th and Cottage Grove Saturday The annual Kwanza Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 7 from a staging area on King Drive between 72nd and 75th, and will proceed east on 75th to Cottage Grove and south to 89th. #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove and #75 74th/75th buses may be delayed or detoured briefly until about noon.
