Daytime Single Tracks in Effect on Brown Line This Weekend

A single track will be in effect on the Brown Line affecting customers who board at the Paulina and Addison stations from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12.

Northbound customers at the Paulina and Addison stations must board and exit trains on the southbound platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Sunday
A single track will be in effect between the Brown Line's Irving Park and Belmont stations from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 13.

Southbound customers at the Addison and Paulina stations must board and exit trains on the northbound platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Three-Phase Single Track in Effect on Blue Line This Weekend
A three-phase single track will be in effect between the California and Addison stations on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line from 11 p.m. Friday, January 11 until 10 p.m. Sunday, January 13.

From 11 p.m. Friday, January 11 until 2 a.m. Saturday, January 12 all customers at the Logan Square station must board on the southbound side of the platform.

From 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday, January 12 all customers at the Logan Square, Belmont and Addison stations must board on the southbound side platform.

From 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday, January 12 all customers at the Logan Square station must board on the southbound side of the platform.

From 10 p.m. Saturday, January 12 until 2 a.m. Sunday, January 13 all customers at Logan Square must board on the northbound side of the platform.

From 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, January 13 all customers at the Addison, Logan Square and Belmont stations must board on the northbound side of the platform.

From 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday, January 13 all customers at the Logan Square station must board on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Late Night Single Track on O'Hare Branch of Blue Line Next Week
A single track will be in effect between the Damen and Grand stations on the Blue Line from 11 p.m. Tuesday, January 15 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, January 16 and again during the same hours on Thursday, January 17 until Friday,
January 18.

Southbound customers at the Division, Chicago and Grand stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Single Track in Effect on Red Line
Due to construction work, a single track will be in effect between the Roosevelt and Grand stations on the Red Line from midnight each night until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Tuesday night, January 15 through Saturday morning, January 19.

Northbound Red Line customers at the Roosevelt, Harrison, Jackson, Monroe and Lake stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Temporary Reroutes of Red and Brown Lines
Due to construction work associated with the Fullerton, Diversey and Belmont stations, northbound Red and Brown line trains will be rerouted to operate on the southbound Red Line tracks at Fullerton and Belmont on Saturday, January 12 from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Northbound Red and Brown line customers will board and exit trains on the southbound Red Line platform. Southbound Red and Brown line customers will board and exit trains on the southbound Brown Line platform.

During this time, northbound Brown Line trains will be unable to stop at Wellington station; therefore, customers who want to exit at Wellington should continue to ride north to Belmont and then take a southbound train to Wellington. Northbound customers who wish to board at Wellington should take a southbound train to Fullerton and board a northbound train.

Customers are asked to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Next Week — Southbound Red Line
From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day beginning Monday,
January 14 through Friday, January 18, southbound Red Line trains will operate on the southbound Brown Line side of the platform at Belmont.

Southbound Red Line customers must board and exit trains on the southbound Brown Line side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the route of each train.

Northbound Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Sheridan
Northbound Red Line trains will operate on the northbound Purple Express tracks from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12.

During these times northbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Next Week
Northbound Red Line trains will operate on the northbound Purple Express tracks from 10:50 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day beginning Tuesday, January 15 through Friday,
January 18.

During these times northbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Northbound Red Line Service Temporarily Suspended From Wilson to Argyle on Sunday
Northbound Red Line trains will temporarily operate on northbound Purple Line Express tracks from Wilson to Argyle from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 13.

Northbound Red Line trains will be unable to stop at the Wilson, Lawrence and Argyle stations due to track maintenance work.

Northbound customers who want to exit at Wilson, Lawrence or Argyle should transfer to a southbound train at Berwyn and ride back to these stations. Northbound customers who want to board at these stations should board a southbound train, exit at Sheridan or Addison and transfer to a northbound train.

#19 United Center Express Serves Blackhawks Games and Concerts
CTA will operate its #19 United Center Express buses for the following dates and times:

  • Friday, January 11 at 7:30 p.m. " Blackhawks versus Minnesota Wild
  • Saturday, January 12 at 8 p.m. " Barry Manilow concert
  • Monday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m. " Hannah Montana concert
  • Wednesday, January 16 at 7:30 p.m. " Blackhawks versus St. Louis Blues

Buses will leave every 12 minutes from Michigan and Superior starting two hours before event time until 30 minutes before the event begins. When the event ends, #19 buses will depart the United Center approximately every 15 minutes for one hour.

#19 buses will make all stops on Michigan from Superior to Washington, and on Madison from Wabash to Clinton. From Clinton, #19 buses run express to the United Center.

After the event, #19 buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on Madison near Gate 3. On the return trip, #19 buses operate through downtown east on Washington to Wacker, then head south to Monroe and east to Michigan, making all stops from Jefferson to Michigan before turning north on Michigan and making all stops from Randolph to Chicago.

Buses Reroute Due to Harrison Street Bridge Closure
The Harrison Street Bridge over the south branch of the Chicago River will be closed until January 28.

#11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses will reroute in both directions via Harrison, Canal, Jackson then return to the regular route.

Helicopter Lift on Monroe Street
A helicopter lift will take place on Sunday, January 13 from
8 a.m. until noon. Customers on CTA's Orange, Green, Brown and Pink lines may experience delays as the lift area is near CTA's elevated tracks and may require trains to intermittently halt for brief periods.

Buses Reroute for Construction
51st Street between Lowe and Shields will be closed for pavement repairs beginning at8 a.m. Monday, January 14 through 3 p.m. Monday, February 25.

Eastbound #51 51st Street buses will travel over the regular route to Halsted then will operate via Halsted, 47th, Wells, 51st, Wentworth then return to 47th and resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via 47th, Halsted to 51st and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Red Line Subway Reconstruction Continues at Grand/State
During the Red Line Subway reconstruction at Grand/State, the following bus stops are affected through 4 p.m. Friday,
January 11, 2008:

#29 State
The southbound far side service stop at State and Grand has been eliminated and a new southbound near side service stop has been created at State and Illinois.

#36 Broadway
The northbound near side service stop at State and Grand has been relocated to a new northbound near side service stop at State and Ohio.

The southbound near side service stop at State and Grand has been eliminated and a new southbound near side service stop has been created at State and Illinois.

#65 Grand
The westbound near side service stop at Grand and State has been eliminated. There is an existing westbound near side service stop at Grand and Dearborn.

Buses Continue Reroute Due to Construction
Westbound #70 Division buses continue to undergo reroutes until Friday, March 21 due to street repairs at Division and Kolmar.

Buses will travel over the regular route to Kostner then will operate via Kostner, Augusta, Cicero then return to Division and resume the regular route.

Dorchester Remains Closed for Construction
Dorchester continues to be closed between 60th and 61st streets through 3 p.m. Friday, February 11.

Eastbound #59 59th/61st buses will travel over the regular route to 61st then will operate via Cottage, 60th, Dorchester, Midway Plaisance, Stony Island to 60th. Westbound buses will operate via 60th, Dorchester, Cottage Grove then return to 61st and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
