Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of June 4-6

Blue Line – Other Events Affecting Service

Late Night Single Track in Effect between the Montrose and Jefferson Park Stations

Northbound Blue Line trains will undergo a late night single track between the Montrose and Jefferson Park stations on the O’Hare branch for two nights this weekend and two nights next week due to maintenance and repair work. The single track will be in effect from 10 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. the next morning on the following days: Friday night, June 4; Saturday night, June 5; Monday night, June 7 and Tuesday night, June 8.
 
During these times, northbound Blue Line customers at the Montrose station must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 
Wednesday and Thursday – Southbound
From 10 p.m. Wednesday, June 9 until 4 a.m. the following morning and then again from 10 p.m. Thursday, June 10 until 4 a.m. the following morning, a single track will be in effect for southbound Blue Line trains between the Jefferson Park and Montrose stations as maintenance and repair work continues.
 
During these times, southbound Blue Line customers at the Montrose station must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 

Orange Line – Other Events Affecting Service

Late Night Single Track in Effect between the Halsted and Ashland Stations Next Week

A late night single track will be in effect for southbound Orange Line trains between the Halsted and Ashland stations from 9 p.m. each night until the end of service (approximately 1:30 a.m.) beginning Monday night, June 7 through Thursday morning, June 10, due to routine track maintenance.
 
During these times, southbound Orange Line customers at the Halsted station must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 

Trains Undergo Late Night Single Track between the Ashland and 35th/Archer Stations

A late night single track will be in effect for southbound Orange Line trains between the Ashland and 35th/Archer stations from 9 p.m. Thursday, June 10 until the end of service (approximately 1:30 a.m.), due to routine track maintenance.
 
Southbound Orange Line customers at the Ashland station must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 

Pink Line – Other Events Affecting Service

Pink Line Trains Unable to Enter the Loop Saturday Evening

Pink Line trains will be unable to enter the Loop from 9 p.m. Saturday, June 5 until end of service (approximately 1:30 a.m.), due to structural maintenance work on the Lake Street Bridge.
 
During this time, Green Line trains will be able to serve the Loop; however, a single track will be in effect for westbound (outbound) trains between the Ashland and Clark/Lake stations. Westbound (outbound) customers at the Ashland and Clinton stations must board and exit Green Line trains from the eastbound (inbound) platform.
 
Eastbound (inbound) Pink Line customers traveling to the Loop must exit at the Ashland station and transfer to the other platform to board an eastbound (inound) Green Line train.
 
Pink Line trains will operate normally between the 54th/Cermak and Ashland stations.
 
Customers can use Orange and Brown line trains to travel between Clark/Lake and other Loop stations.
 
A shuttle train also will operate around the Loop, clockwise via the Inner Loop (Pink Line) tracks.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the route and direction of each train.
 

Purple Line – Other Events Affecting Service

Southbound Trains Undergo Daytime Reroute on Saturday

From 6:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, June 5, southbound Purple Line trains will undergo a single track between the Central and Davis stations. 

Southbound customers at the Noyes and Foster stations must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 

Red Line – Other Events Affecting Service

New Auxiliary Entrance on Archer Opens at Cermak-Chinatown Station

Beginning Friday morning, June 4, a new auxiliary entrance will open for CTA customers at the Red Line’s Cermak-Chinatown. Located approximately one block north of Cermak on Archer Avenue, the new entrance will serve as the primary access point for customers while the main entrance to the station on the north side of Cermak is reconstructed and made accessible. Both the north and south entrances on Cermak will be closed to customers beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday.

Late Night Single Track in Effect at the North/Clybourn Station

Southbound Red Line trains will undergo a late night single track at the North/Clybourn station from 11 p.m. Friday, June 4 until 5 a.m. the following morning and then again from 11 p.m. Saturday, June 5 until 6 a.m. the following morning, due to station refurbishment work.
 
Southbound Red Line customers at the North/Clybourn station must board and exit trains from the northbound platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 
Next Week
From 11 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Sunday night, June 6 through Wednesday morning, June 8, a single track will be in effect for southbound Red Line trains at the North/Clybourn station as station refurbishment work continues.
 
During these times, southbound Red Line customers at the North/Clybourn station must board and exit trains from the northbound platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 

Service for Upcoming Events

Take CTA to the United Center to Cheer on the Blackhawks

CTA will operate its #19 United Center Express for fans attending Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals at the United Center between the Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday, June 6. The puck drops at 7 p.m.  
 
Buses will leave every 12-15 minutes from Michigan and Randolph beginning 90 minutes before the start of the game until the game begins.  When the game ends, #19 buses will depart the United Center approximately every 15 minutes for one hour.
 
#19 buses no longer make stops along Michigan Avenue north of Randolph, but continue to make all stops on Madison from Wabash to Clinton. From Clinton, #19 buses run express to the United Center.
 
After the game, #19 buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on Madison near Gate 3. On the return trip, #19 buses will operate east on Washington to Wacker, then head south to Monroe and east to Michigan, making all stops from Jefferson to Michigan before turning north on Michigan and making the final stop at Randolph.
 

New/Updated Changes in Bus Service

St. Ann Kermes Event Detours #18 16th/18th Buses through Late Sunday Night

Currently in effect until 11 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 18th Street between Oakley and Hoyne is closed to all traffic for the St. Ann Kermes event.
 
Eastbound #18 16th/18th buses are traveling over the regular route along 18th Street to Western then operating via Western, Cermak, Damen to 18th Street and then resuming the regular route. Westbound #18 buses are traveling the reverse route.
 

Restoration of #126 Jackson Bus Stop at Jackson/Kedzie

Effective immediately, the far side stop at Jackson/Kedzie served by westbound #126 Jackson buses has been reinstated following the completion of nearby construction work.
 

May Fest Temporarily Reroutes Buses

Leland Avenue between Western and Lincoln, and Lincoln Avenue between Leland and Wilson is closed until noon on Monday, June 7, for the annual May Fest. As a result of these street closures, #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick and #49B North Western buses are being rerouted to adjacent streets.
 
Southbound #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses are operating over the regular route along Western past Leland to Montrose then are traveling via Montrose to Lincoln and resuming the regular route. Northbound #11 buses are traveling over the regular route along Lincoln to Wilson then are operating via Wilson to Western and resuming the regular route.
 
Southbound #49B North Western buses are operating over the regular route along Western past Leland to Montrose then are traveling via Montrose, Lincoln, Wilson to Western and then resuming the regular route. Northbound #49B buses are traveling over the regular route.
 

Temporary Changes in Service for #21 Cermak and #62 Archer Buses Serving the Cermak-Chinatown Station

At approximately 4:10 a.m. Friday, June 4, #21 Cermak and #62 Archer buses will undergo temporary changes in service due to the opening of the new Archer Avenue entrance at the Red Line’s Cermak-Chinatown station. To accommodate customers transferring between bus and rail services, changes have been made to bus stops served by both routes, and #21 buses also will be rerouted.

#70 Division Buses Detoured for the Do Division Street Festival This Weekend

From 1 a.m. Saturday, June 5 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 7, Division Street between Damen and Leavitt will be closed to all traffic for the Do Division Street Festival and Sidewalk Sale.
 
Eastbound #79 Division buses will travel over the regular route along Division to Western then will operate via Western, Augusta, Damen to Division and then resume the regular route. Westbound #70 buses will travel the reverse route.
 

Buses Rerouted for the United Run for the Zoo Event

On Saturday, June 5 from 4:45 a.m. until 10 a.m., Stockton Drive between Cannon and LaSalle; Cannon Drive between Diversey and Fullerton; and Lake Shore Drive West between Diversey and Cannon will be closed for the United Run for the Zoo event.
 
Eastbound #76 Diversey buses will operate over the regular route along Diversey to Sheridan then will operate via Sheridan, Belmont to Lake Shore Drive West south of Oakdale before turning to begin westbound service. Westbound #76 buses will continue south on Lake Shore Drive West to Diversey and then resume the regular route.
 
Southbound #151 Sheridan buses will travel over the regular route along Sheridan/Lakeview past Diversey to Fullerton and then will operate via Fullerton, Lincoln Park West, Clark, LaSalle to Inner Lake Shore Drive and then resume the regular route. Northbound #151 buses will travel the reverse route.
 

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Detours Buses Serving the Museum Campus This Weekend

From 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 5, Museum Campus Drive between Waldron and McFetridge and Solidarity Drive will be closed to all traffic due to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. 
 
Due to these closures, southbound #130 Museum Campus and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will be unable to make stops past McFetridge/Solidarity Drive. Buses instead will operate over their regular routes along Columbus, east on McFetridge to the south side of the Field Museum before turning to begin northbound service. Northbound #130 and #146 buses will operate west on McFetridge over the regular route.
 

VFW Flag Day Parade Detours #76 Diversey Buses on Saturday

Diversey Avenue between Oak Park and Newland will be closed to all traffic from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5, due to the VFW Flag Day Parade. The parade will step-off at 11 a.m.
 
Eastbound #76 Diversey buses will depart from the terminal at Neva/Diversey then will operate via Diversey, Harlem, Grand, Fullerton, Narragansett to Diversey and then resume the regular route. Westbound #76 buses will travel the reverse route.
 

Ongoing Bus Reroutes

#36 Broadway Bus Stop at Broadway/Wilson Temporarily Relocated

Currently in effect until Wednesday, June 16, the southbound far side stop at Broadway/Wilson served by #36 Broadway buses temporarily has been relocated to a near side stop due to sidewalk construction work.
 

#49A South Western Bus Stop at Western/York Temporarily Eliminated

Currently in effect until Thursday, June 17, the southbound near side stop at Western/York served by #49A South Western buses temporarily has been eliminated due to nearby construction.
 

#72 Bus Stop at North/Clybourn Red Line Station Temporarily Relocated Due to Construction

Currently in effect until Wednesday, June 30, the eastbound mid-block stop in front of the North/Clybourn station that is served by #72 North Avenue buses temporarily has been relocated to a near side stop at the intersection of North/Clybourn. The relocation is due to construction at the North/Clybourn Red Line station.
 
In addition, #72 buses now are serving the temporary far side stop at the North Avenue/Halsted intersection.
 

#81 Lawrence Bus Stops near the Kennedy Expressway Temporarily Eliminated

Currently in effect until Tuesday, August 31, the eastbound and westbound near side bus stops on Lawrence at LeClaire served by #81 Lawrence buses temporarily have been removed from service due to rehabilitation work on the Lawrence Avenue viaduct.
 

Temporary Elimination of Bus Stop at Michigan/Delaware

Currently in effect until Tuesday, August 31, the southbound near side stop at Michigan/Delaware temporarily has been removed from service due to sidewalk reconstruction work.
 
This stop is served by #33 Mag Mile Express, #143 Stockton/Michigan Express, #144 Marine/Michigan Express, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express, #148 Clarendon/Michigan Express and #151 Sheridan buses.
 
Customers may board and exit these buses from the near side stop at Michigan/Pearson.
 

#111 Pullman/111th/115th Buses Undergo Reroutes Due to Bridge Repair Work

Currently in effect until 4 p.m. Sunday, October 31, the 111th Street Bridge over Interstate 57 (I-57) is closed to all traffic due to bridge and deck replacement work.
 
Southbound #111 Pullman/111th/115th buses are operating over the regular route along 111th Street to Marshfield then traveling via Marshfield, 112th Place, Hamlet to 111th Street and then resuming the regular route east on 111th Street.
 
Northbound #111 buses are traveling over the regular route along 111th Street to Throop then operating via Throop, 107th Street, Vincennes and then resuming the regular route south on Vincennes past 111th Street.
 

Temporary Removal of #126 Jackson Bus Stop at Jackson/Sangamon

Currently in effect until Friday, September 30, 2011, the eastbound far side stop at Jackson/Sangamon served by #126 Jackson buses temporarily has been removed from service due to nearby construction. Customers may board and exit eastbound #126 buses at either Jackson/Morgan or Jackson/Peoria.
 

Buses Rerouted on Saturdays for the Near North Farmer’s Market

From 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Saturday through October 30, Division Street between State and Clark will be closed for the Near North Farmer’s Market.
 
Southbound #36 Broadway buses will travel over the regular route along Clark past Division to Maple then will operate via Maple to State and then resume the regular route. Northbound #36 buses will operate over the regular route along State to Elm then will travel via Elm to Clark and then resume the regular route.
 
Eastbound #70 Division buses will travel over the regular route along Division to Clark and then will operate via Clark, Maple to Dearborn and then resume the regular route. Westbound #70 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route. 
 

Temporary Relocation of Bus Stop at Jeffery/75th Street

Currently in effect until further notice, the southbound far side bus stop at Jeffery/75th Street temporarily has been relocated to a near side stop due to nearby sidewalk construction. This stop is served by southbound #14 Jeffery Express and #15 Jeffery Local buses.
 

#56 Milwaukee Bus Stop at Milwaukee/Diversey Temporarily Relocated

Until further notice, the southbound near side bus stop at Milwaukee/Diversey served by #56 Milwaukee buses temporarily has been relocated to a far side stop.
 

Lane Restrictions near State and Grand Detour #29 State and #36 Broadway Buses

Due to lane restrictions associated with the Grand/State Red Line rehabilitation project at the northwest corner of State Street and Grand Avenue, #29 State and #36 Broadway buses are being detoured to adjacent streets until further notice.
 
Southbound #29 State buses are operating over the regular route along Grand past State to Clark then traveling via Clark, Illinois to State and resuming the regular route. Northbound #29 buses are traveling along the remaining open lane along State and over the regular route.
 
Southbound #36 Broadway buses are traveling over the regular route along State to Ontario then operating via Ontario, Clark, Illinois to State and resuming the regular route. Northbound #36 buses are operating over the regular route along Dearborn past Illinois to Ohio then traveling via Ohio to State and resuming the regular route.
 

Temporary Changes to Bus Stops near Sheridan/Foster

Currently in effect until further notice, the northbound near side stop at Sheridan/Foster temporarily has been removed from service due to the demolition and reconstruction of a nearby building. This stop is served by #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses.
 

Service Adjustments Due to the Congress/Wacker Construction Project

Due to the Congress/Wacker Construction Project, several streets in the downtown area have been closed or reconfigured until Monday, April 2, 2012. As a result of these closures and reconfigurations, the following changes in service along three CTA bus routes currently are in effect:
 
#11 Lincoln/Sedgwick
Van Buren Street between Canal and Clinton has been reconfigured to accommodate westbound traffic only. As a result, the southbound near side bus stop at Van Buren/Canal served by #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses has been relocated to a far side stop. 
 
#121 Union Wacker Express
Lower Wacker Drive between Harrison and Randolph is closed to all traffic due to the Congress/Wacker Construction Project. During this time #121 Union/Wacker Express buses are being detoured to adjacent streets.
 
Northbound #121 Union/Wacker Express buses are operating over the regular route along Jackson past Wacker to Franklin then are traveling via Franklin, Lake, Post Place to Lower Wacker and then resuming the regular route.
 
Southbound #121 buses will operate over the regular route along Lower Wacker to the exit ramp for Upper Wacker and then travel via Upper Wacker to Adams and resume the regular route west on Adams.
 
#124 Navy Pier
Van Buren Street between Canal and Clinton has been reconfigured to accommodate westbound traffic only.
 
Westbound #124 Navy Pier buses are traveling over the regular route along Clinton past Van Buren to Harrison then are operating via Harrison to Canal and resuming the regular route north on Canal. Eastbound #124 buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.
