EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF JULY 16 - 18

Single Track in Effect on Red Line Friday, Saturday and Sunday Due to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 23rd and 45th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Saturday and again in the same location from 8 p.m. Saturday until 4 p.m. Sunday.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the Dan Ryan Red Line construction, CTA trains will begin using by-pass tracks between 30th and 34th Streets northbound on Friday and southbound on Saturday. The by-pass tracks will be in place until mid-September.

CTA trains also are using by-pass tracks between 62nd and 58th Streets until late August.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal stations.

New Phase of Bridge Construction Begins Monday MorningA new construction phase of the Central Avenue bridge at Grand over the Metra and Canadian Pacific railway tracks will begin at 4 a.m. Monday and run through Wednesday, September 1. #85 Central buses will operate in both directions via Central, Grand, Laramie, North, back to Central, then resume the regular route.

Clark Street Bridge over the Chicago River Closes Friday and MondayThe Clark Street bridge over the Chicago River will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Friday and again on Monday, July 19. Southbound #22 Clark buses will operate via Clark, Kinzie, LaSalle, Wacker, back to Clark, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Additional Bus Service Provided for Millennium Park Grand Opening Friday NightAdditional buses will operate on the #6 Jackson Park Express, #20 Madison, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express and #151 Sheridan routes for customers attending the grand opening of Millennium Park on Friday night.

Lincoln Closes for Street Festival Beginning Saturday MorningLincoln will be closed between Diversey and Wellington from 4 a.m. Saturday until 9 p.m. Sunday for the ?Rock Around the Block? festival. #11 Lincoln buses will operate in both directions via Lincoln, Southport, Diversey, back to Lincoln, then resume the regular route.

Additional Service Provided for Double-Header Soccer Games at Soldier Field Saturday NightAdditional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes serving Soldier Field for two soccer games Saturday. The first is the Chicago Fire versus the New York-New Jersey MetroStars beginning at 7 p.m. It will be followed by an international game between Mexican teams Monarcas de Atletico Morelia and Necaxa beginning at 9:30 p.m. Additional bus service will begin at 4:30 p.m. and continue until one hour after the games end or as crowds warrant.

Helicopter Lift Closes Wacker and Wabash Sunday MorningA helicopter lift at 71 East Wacker will close Wacker between Michigan and State, and Wabash between Wacker Place and Grand from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Sunday. Southbound #6 Jackson Park Express and #146 Inner Drive/ Michigan Express buses will operate via Michigan, Randolph, back to State, then resume the regular route. Northbound #146 buses will operate via State, Lake, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route. Northbound #6 service will not be affected.

Helicopter Lift Closes Chicago Avenue Sunday MorningA helicopter lift at 500 West Superior will close Chicago between Halsted and Hudson from 10 a.m. until noon Sunday. #66 Chicago buses will operate in both directions via Chicago, Halsted, Division, Orleans, back to Chicago, then resume the regular route.

Wentworth Bridge over the Dan Ryan Expressway Closes for Reconstruction Beginning MondayThe Wentworth bridge over the Dan Ryan will be closed for four months beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, July 19 until November. Northbound #24 Wentworth buses will operate via Wentworth, Marquette, Stewart, 63rd, back to Wentworth, then resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.

51st Street Closes for Metra Work Beginning Tuesday51st Street will be closed between LaSalle and State from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 20 and 21. Northbound #15 Jeffery Local buses will operate via 51st, State to the 47th Street Red Line station.

Southbound buses will leave the station and operate via 51st, Wentworth, 47th, State, back to 51st, then resume the regular route.

47th Street Closes for Metra Work Beginning Thursday47th Street will be closed between LaSalle and State from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, July 22 and 23. Eastbound #47 47th buses will operate via 47th, LaSalle, 43rd, State, back to 47th, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via 47th, State, 51st, Wentworth, back to 47th, then resume the regular route.

LaSalle Street Bridge over the Chicago River Closes Beginning TuesdayThe LaSalle Street bridge over the Chicago River will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. daily Tuesday through Friday, July 20 ? 23 and again on Monday, July 26. Northbound #156 LaSalle buses will operate via LaSalle, Wacker, Dearborn, Kinzie, back to LaSalle, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via LaSalle, Kinzie, Clark, Wacker, back to LaSalle, then resume the regular route.
