The Chicago Transit Authority will provide additional and later service on the #12 Roosevelt, #128 Soldier Field Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express routes for the Chicago Bears vs. San Francisco 49ers pre-season game Thursday, August 21 at Soldier Field. Game time is 7 p.m.
#12 Roosevelt will operate additional buses between State Street and Soldier Field.
#128 Soldier Field Express will operate non-stop between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field for the convenience of Bears fans. Service will operate from 5:15 p.m. until 7:35 p.m. After the game, buses will leave Soldier Field every few minutes for one hour.
The special fare for #128 buses is $1 for full-fare customers and 50 cents for reduced-fare customers. The exact cash fare is required to receive the special rate.
#146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express will operate additional buses to Soldier Field every few minutes for two hours before games start and one hour after games end.
Customers can also travel to Soldier Field via Red, Orange or Green line trains at Roosevelt. The station is located at Roosevelt and State, a few blocks west of the stadium. CTA will provide additional Customer Assistants at the Roosevelt Green and Orange Line elevated and Red Line subway stations to assist fans.
Following the game, southbound service on the Red Line will be rerouted to the elevated tracks between Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown starting at 9 p.m. Thursday night. Southbound customers who use the Roosevelt station should go to the elevated platform for their trip home. Northbound customers should return to the subway.
Customers who wish to travel southbound from downtown stations can access southbound Red Line trains at any of the elevated stations along Lake or Wabash streets on the Inner Loop track.
Southbound Red Line trains will operate normally between the Cermak-Chinatown and 95th Street stations.
Note: The additional service on the #12 Roosevelt and the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express and the special service on the #128 Soldier Field Express to accommodate customers traveling to and from Soldier Field will not be visible via the CTA's electronic Bus Tracker system. At this time only regularly scheduled service for routes active on Bus Tracker is available on the web site.
