CTA PROVIDES EXTRA SERVICE FOR JAZZ FESTIVAL IN GRANT PARK AUGUST 31- SEPTEMBER 3

Extra CTA buses will serve music lovers attending the 22nd Annual Chicago Jazz Festival in Grant Park Thursday, August 31, through Sunday, September 3. Evening performances will be held in the Petrillo Music Shell, at Jackson and Columbus Drives, and will end at about 9:30 p.m. nightly.

The Jazz Festival will also be served by longer trains on the Blue, Brown, and Green Lines, and by extra Customer Assistants at stations on the Blue, Green and Red Lines that are closest to Grant Park.

Customers can now use the recently renovated Jackson/Van Buren entrance to the Jackson station on the Red Line. The can also use the Jackson station served by Blue Line trains in the Dearborn subway. Also nearby are 'L' stations at Library-State/Van Buren and Adams/Wabash for Brown, Green, and Orange Line trains that operate throughout the evening.

As performances come to a close each evening, extra buses on the #146 Marine/Michigan Express and #151 Sheridan routes will await customers westbound on Adams at Wabash. #6 Jeffery Express buses, which stop eastbound on Congress at Michigan, will provide regular service south until late every evening. #126 Jackson buses, which make stops northbound on Michigan at Van Buren and Jackson before turning west on Adams, operate until just after midnight on weeknights, and until 11 p.m. other nights.
