Extra buses on four CTA routes will serve Soldier Field for the Chicago Classic football game at Soldier Field Saturday, September 2, between Howard and Jackson State Universities. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
To reach the game, football fans can take #12 Roosevelt, #130 Grant Park Treasures or #146 Marine/Michigan Express buses directly to McFetridge Drive on the north side of Soldier Field. #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove and #6 Jeffery Express buses also stop within easy walking distance of Soldier Field.
Soldier Field can also be reached from Red, Green and Orange Line 'L' stations at Roosevelt, between State and Wabash. Extra buses on the #12 Roosevelt route will provide shuttle service between the 'L' stations and Soldier Field.
After the game extra buses on the #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, and #6 Jeffery Express routes will await riders on McFetridge Drive for trips south, and buses will also be available for trips back to the 'L' stations and to downtown. Regularly scheduled #12 Roosevelt buses will operate west on Roosevelt to the terminal at Monitor.
