CTA Issues Commemorative Farecard in Honor of the Crosstown Classic

May 28, 2009

2009 Crosstown Series FarecardThe Chicago Transit Authority today announced that beginning Monday, June 1 limited edition commemorative farecards will be available in the farecard vending machines at all CTA rail stations to celebrate the 2009 Cubs/White Sox Crosstown Classic series.

The farecards will be available while supplies last.

Chicago artist Steve Musgrave designed the farecard. Musgrave also designed commemorative posters that will be distributed at the CTA Red Line station near the ballpark hosting the series. This year’s series will take place at Wrigley Field June 16-18 and at U.S. Cellular Field June 26-28.

Since the program began in 1998, the commemorative posters and farecards have become a one-of-a-kind collectible item for fans. Musgrave also has several murals featuring Cubs legends on display at the Addison station, which he adopted as part of the CTA's Adopt-A-Station program in 1998.
