To better serve its customers, the CTA recently added service on the #20 Madison, #146 Marine/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express, and #156 LaSalle bus routes. The improvements include earlier and later service on some routes, as well as additional trips at certain times of the day.
CTA Chairman Valerie B. Jarrett stated, "These service improvements are part of our ongoing efforts to evaluate service and ensure that we are responding appropriately to ridership trends."
CTA President Frank Kruesi said, "The changes we?ve made will result in greater travel flexibility and convenience for our customers. We?re regularly monitoring ridership on our routes so that we can best match our service to the needs of our customers."
The service improvements are as follows:
#20 Madison ? Additional service from downtown between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
#146 Marine/Michigan Express ? The first southbound trip from the Berwyn Red Line station will leave 10 minutes earlier at 5:35 a.m. There will be additional southbound service between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and additional northbound service between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
#147 Outer Drive Express ? The first southbound trip will leave the Howard Red Line station 15 minutes earlier at 4:45 a.m. The first northbound trip will leave Congress/Wells 15 minutes earlier at 5:30 a.m. There will be additional northbound service from Congress/Wells between 6:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
#156 LaSalle ? The last northbound trip will leave Harrison/Desplaines 10 minutes later at 7:32 p.m.
