CTA’s #2 Hyde Park Express, #59 59th/61st and #170 U of Chicago/Midway bus routes will undergo temporary detours from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day beginning Wednesday, May 25 until Monday, June 6. The reroutes are needed due to the closure of 60th Street between Dorchester and Blackstone for a water pipe installation project.
Southbound #2 buses will travel over the regular route to Stony Island/Midway Plaisance and then will travel west on Midway Plaisance to Dorchester to 60th Street and will continue west on 60th Street over the regular route.
Westbound #59 buses will begin their trips from Midway Plaisance and then will operate via Cornell, Midway Plaisance to Dorchester and then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #170 buses will travel over the regular route to 60th/Dorchester then will operate via Dorchester, Midway Plaisance to Stony Island and resume the regular route.
