Clark/Lake Thompson Center Entrance Temporary Closure

General information

The entrance, exit and transfer passage via the Clark/Lake station at the former Thompson Center will be temporarily closed through the weekend for ongoing renovation work.

Use the 203 N LaSalle entrance on the north side of Lake Street to access all trains, instead. The Wells/Lake auxiliary entrance to the Blue Line subway (farecard only) and Clark Street auxiliary exits from the elevated platforms also remain open.

Board Orange, Pink and 63rd-bound Green line trains on the Inner Loop elevated platform by entering the 203 N LaSalle entrance, via the transfer bridge (stairs only).

Step-free accessibility

For step-free access from Orange, Pink and 63rd-bound Green lines to other lines at this station, take any train from where these trains stop to Washington/Wabash and board any train on the opposite platform to ride back to this station where an elevator is available via the 203 N LaSalle entrance/exit.

For step-free transfer access between Blue Line and Orange and Pink lines, transfer between Jackson Blue Line and the H.W. Library/State-Van Buren elevated station, east of Dearborn on Van Buren.

For step-free transfer between Blue Line and Ashland/63rd and Cottage Grove-bound Green Line trains:

  • For step-free access to 63rd-bound service from street level or other platforms at Clark/Lake, take a Harlem-bound train to Clinton and transfer to a 63rd-bound train.
  • For step-free access from 63rd-bound service to street level or the Blue Line at Clark/Lake, take a 63rd-bound train to Washington/Wabash and transfer to any train back to Clark/Lake on the opposite platform.
