The Red Line provides 24-hour train service between Howard on the North Side and Ashland/63rd on the South Side via downtown Chicago.
Red Line South Reconstruction Project: Red Line trains usually operate between Howard and 95th/Dan Ryan, but are rerouted at this time. This page reflects current service on the Red Line.
What's different? The Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line is temporarily closed for five months while we rebuild the tracks from Cermak-Chinatown to 95th/Dan Ryan—a project will provide faster commutes, a smoother ride, improved stations and accessibility and a better passenger experience. Our goal is to provide a number of convenient travel options, and to minimize the project’s impact as much as possible.
