Fireworks Night at Navy Pier- Saturday, July 4th

Buy your fare in advance

To decrease travel times and avoid long lines at rail station vending machines, the CTA recommends that customers load ahead of time transit value or unlimited ride passes (1-day, 3-day, 7-day and 30-day) to their Ventra farecards at rail stations, online or at more than 1,300 local retailers. Other ways to pay fares including purchase from CTA vending machines 1-day unlimited ride tickets ($10) or single-ride tickets ($3) that include up to two transfers in two hour. Customers can also pay their fares with their personal contactless debit or credit cards.

Bikes, Strollers and Carts

To accommodate as many riders as possible, and for everyone's safety, the following will be in effect:

  • No bikes allowed on trains. Bicycles are not permitted on trains between 12:01am and 11:59pm, June 28 for customers' safety and to provide additional capacity. Bicycles are permitted on buses equipped with bike racks (maximum of 2 bikes per rack).
  • Please fold strollers and carts. All strollers and carts are required to be folded prior to boarding buses and trains between 12:01am and 11:59pm, June 28 for customers' safety and to provide additional capacity.

How does this affect my trip?
Board/exit all trains on the O’Hare-bound side of the platform at the Austin station.

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Cicero and Oak Park, resulting in minor delays.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing track maintenance to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Blue Line.

From Balbo/Michigan, southbound #2, #6, #10, #J14, #26, and #28 buses will operate via Michigan and Roosevelt, then resume their normal route on Columbus.

Why is service being changed?

Southbound #29, and westbound #65, #66, and #124 buses will begin their trips at Grand/Peshtigo, then resume their normal route on Grand.
