Yellow Line Service Temporarily Interrupted for Grade Crossing Improvements Over Weekend

Rail and highway grade crossings replacement work will suspend Yellow Line weekend service and temporarily close the Skokie station. Beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, May 16 until 4 a.m. Monday, May 19, the southbound and northbound track will close intermittently at the Oakton and East Prairie crossovers.

Customers are advised to use the #97 Skokie bus service as a substitute for Yellow Line service. The CTA will provide additional #97 Skokie buses between Skokie and Howard to supplement service before and after Cubs games. Shuttle buses will operate Saturday, May 17 between 10:05 a.m. and 12:05 p.m., and 3:05 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. and again Sunday, May 18 between 11:20 a.m. and 1:20 p.m., and 4:20 p.m. and 5:50 p.m.

Customers will be able to transfer to Purple and Red Line trains at Howard station.

Oakton Closes Tonight for Track Work Through May 22
The grade crossing improvement work will close Oakton between Skokie and LaCrosse from 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15 until 5 a.m. Thursday, May 22. #97 buses will be rerouted in both directions via Skokie, Searle, Niles and Oakton.
