The RPM project stretches along the existing Red and Purple lines from Belmont station to the Linden terminal. The RPM project would help bring the existing transit line into a state of good repair, reduce travel times, improve access to job markets and destinations, and provide improved access to people with disabilities. A number of alternatives are under consideration for the RPM project, including the comprehensive reconstruction of track, stations, and structures along the line. CTA is now preparing a Tier 1 Draft Environmental Impact Statement to evaluate environmental impacts of the project. This update meeting is a continuation of public outreach efforts that began in 2009 to keep the community informed and involved in the RPM project. This project is one part of CTA’s larger initiative to enhance the entire Red Line.
