Reroutes in Effect from Saturday through Friday Evening, June 26
Beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20 until 5 p.m. Friday, June 26, Columbus Drive between Roosevelt and Monroe; Monroe Drive between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive; Jackson Drive between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive; Congress Parkway between Michigan and Columbus and Congress Plaza will be closed to all traffic due to set-up work for the Taste of Chicago.
As a result of these street closures, 10 CTA bus routes will be detoured to adjacent streets in order to maintain service.
Southbound #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express, #26 South Shore Express and #X28 Stony Island Express, buses will travel to Michigan/Balbo then will operate via Michigan, Roosevelt, Columbus and then resume their regular routes. Northbound #2, #6, #10, #14, #26 and #X28 buses will travel the reverse route.
Eastbound #7 Harrison and #126 Jackson buses will operate over their regular routes to Michigan/Harrison for the end of route and start of westbound service. Westbound #7 and #126 buses will operate west on Harrison to State then will travel via State to Van Buren and then resume their regular routes.
Southbound #132 Goose Island Express and #147 Outer Drive Express buses will travel over their regular routes to Michigan/Harrison for the end of their routes and start of northbound service. Northbound #132 and #147 buses will operate west along Harrison to State then will travel north along State, past Congress and resume their regular routes.
Helicopter Lift Detours Five Routes Sunday Morning
On Sunday, June 21 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m., Michigan Avenue between Van Buren and Harrison; Congress Parkway between Wabash and Columbus and Congress Plaza will be closed to all traffic due to a helicopter lift.
During this time, buses operating in both directions along the following routes will be rerouted to adjacent streets: #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #14 Jeffery Express, #126 Jackson and #147 Outer Drive Express.
