Renovation of Old Howard Red Line Station Begins Saturday

August 14, 2008

Beginning at 11 p.m. Saturday, August 16, the north entrance of the Howard station at 1649 W. Howard will be closed for renovation for approximately six months.

During the construction, customers will continue to access the station through the newly opened three-story south entrance located at 7519 N. Paulina, which provides a convenient, accessible path between the station platforms and the multi-story parking garage and bus terminal on the west side of the Howard station.

When the north entrance reopens, it will feature improved customer amenities such as brighter lighting, new flooring, an escalator and new signage.

Renovations to the entrance are part of the overall construction project currently underway at the Howard station which is scheduled to be completed in early 2009.
