The CTA reminds Red Line customers that Howard-bound trains will be rerouted from the subway to the elevated tracks between the Cermak-Chinatown and Fullerton stations this weekend beginning 10 p.m. Friday, February 20 until 6 a.m. Sunday, February 22, as crewscontinue subway maintenance work and upgrades to the agency’s subway wireless network to 4G service.

During this time, rerouted Howard-bound trains will stop at the following elevated stations between Cermak-Chinatown and Fullerton: Roosevelt (elevated), Adams/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Randolph/Wabash, State/Lake, Clark/Lake, Merchandise Mart, Chicago/Franklin, Sedgwick and Armitage. The Merchandise Mart station is available for exit only via stairway (non-accessible) from approximately 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. 95th-bound Red Line trains will not be affected and will operate normally in the State Street subway.
