Notice of changed format of Meeting of Committee on Finance Audit & Budget and Transit Board Meeting scheduled for April 8, 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic

Governor JB Pritzker’s Executive Order requiring shelter in place and prohibiting public gatherings means that Chicago Transit Authority public meetings occurring on April 8, 2020 will take place only electronically.

Both Executive Order 2020-07 (extended through April 30 by Executive Order 2020-18) as well as Illinois Attorney General Guidance to Public Bodies on the Open Meetings Act and the Freedom of Information Act during the COVID-19 Pandemic allow for public bodies to hold public meetings electronically to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

You are encouraged to monitor telephonic proceedings of the April 8, 2020 Committee on Finance and Transit Board Meetings, which will be live streamed and can be found at Chicago Transit Board commencing with Committee on Finance at 9:30 am with Transit Board immediately following or by 10:00 a.m. If you are unable to monitor the telephonic proceedings, a written transcript will be available by April 10, 2020 and can be found at: transitchicago.com/board/presentations.

If you are interested in providing public comment at the Board meeting, you must contact the Office of the Secretary of the Board at the information provided below no later than 10:00 a.m. on April 7, 2020. It is strongly encouraged that you submit any public comment in writing for the April 8, 2020 Transit Board meeting, and your comment will be read at the Board meeting. Alternatively, you will be provided with phone instructions when you sign up for public comment. Excepting physical attendance, the other requirements concerning public comment remain in effect and can be found at Public Comment Process.
