Planned project work to impact Blue, Red, Green and Pink Line service
CTA is the most affordable and hassle-free way to get around town, especially to the 2020 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place taking place Saturday, February 8 through Monday, February 17. Details regarding extra service to the Auto Show can be found here.

Event service/extra service
Auto Show at McCormick Center – Sat. Feb. 8 through Mon. Feb. 17
- Bus: Extra service on the #3 King Drive and the Auto Show Shuttle
United Center
Extra service on the #19 United Center Express and #50 Damen routes for the following event:
- New Orleans Pelicans vs. Chicago Bulls – Thurs. Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.

Temporary Closure of Chicago Blue Line Station
- Chicago Blue Line Station will be closed from 10 p.m. on Fri. Feb. 7 until 4 a.m. on Mon. Feb. 10 – More details here
- Free bus shuttle service will operate on Milwaukee between Chicago and Grand Blue Line stations
- Customers are also encouraged to use the nearby Grand Blue Line station
- Construction to improve the Chicago Station is taking place as part of the Your New Blue (YNB) program.
Temporary Closure of Granville, Thorndale and Bryn Mawr Red Line Stations
- Granville, Thorndale and Bryn Mawr Red Line stations will be closed from 10 p.m. on Fri. Feb. 7 until 4 a.m. on Mon. Feb. 10 – More details here
- Free bus shuttle service will operate along Broadway making stops at all Red Line stations between, and including, Loyola Station (accessible) and Berwyn Station.
- Track and signal construction work is taking place at these stations in preparation for the Red Purple Modernization Project, which will completely rebuild the North Red and Purple Lines and add much needed capacity to this growing residential corridor.
Green Line Service Suspended between Clinton and Clark/Lake Stations; Pink Line Service Suspended East of Clinton Station
Shuttle buses will replace rail service between Clinton and Clark/Lake from 2 a.m. on Sat. Feb. 8 until 2 p.m. on Sun. Feb. 9 – More details here
Green Line
- Trains will operate between Harlem/Lake and Clinton and between Ashland/63rd-Cottage Grove and the Loop.
- Trains to/from Ashland/63rd-Cottage Grove will operate clockwise around the Inner Loop on the side normally used by Orange Line trains.
Pink Line
- Trains will operate between 54th/Cermak and Clinton, only.
This shuttle bus service is due to CDOT maintenance on the Lake Street bridge over the Chicago River.
Fare Information
Customers can add unlimited ride passes (1-day, 3-day, 7-day and 30-day) or add money to their Ventra cards for pay-per-ride via the following ways: free Ventra app, rail station Ventra vending machines, online or at nearly 900 local retailers - for locations visit ventrachicago.com.
Single-ride tickets are also available for purchase for $3 ($5 at O’Hare) at all Ventra vending machines. Single-ride tickets include up to two transfers in two hours.
In a hurry? Ventra allows riders to use Apple Pay, Android Pay or Samsung Pay, or any contactless credit or debit card, for pay-as-you-go rides ($2.25 for bus, $2.50 for train).
