Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning Weekend of April 20 – 22

Northbound Red Line Subway Trains to Temporarily Reroute to Elevated Tracks Over Weekend
Northbound Red Line trains will be rerouted from the subway to the elevated tracks from 11 p.m. Friday, April 20 until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, April 22.

Northbound Red Line trains will operate along the regular route from the 95th/Dan Ryan station to the Cermak-Chinatown station. From Roosevelt to Fullerton, northbound Red Line trains will operate on the elevated tracks.

Northbound Red Line trains will stop at the following elevated stations: Roosevelt, Adams/Wabash,Madison/Wabash, Randolph/Wabash, State/Lake, Clark/Lake and Merchandise Mart. Please note, the Merchandise Mart station is available as an exit only (via stairway) on Sunday morning from 12:50 a.m. to 7:10 a.m. From the Merchandise Mart station, northbound Red Line trains will continue to Fullerton where they will resume normal northbound service to Howard.

Northbound Red Line customers who want to exit at North/Clybourn, Clark/Division, Chicago and Grand Red Line stations should travel to Fullerton station and board a southbound Red Line train to ride back.

Southbound Red Line service will not be affected during these hours. Northbound Red Line trains will resume normal service at 12:01 a.m. Monday, April 23.

Chicago Avenue Closes for Station Construction Beginning Thursday Night
Chicago Avenue will be closed between Orleans and Franklin from 9 p.m. Thursday, April 19 until 6 a.m. Friday, April 20. Eastbound #66 Chicago buses will operate via Orleans, Superior, Wells, back to Chicago, then resume the regular route.

Westbound buses will operate via Wells, Huron, Orleans, back to Chicago, then resume the regular route.

Howard Street Closes for Track Work Friday Evening
Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20 until 5 a.m. Monday, April 23, Howard Street will close westbound between Paulina and Clark for track work at the Howard station. Westbound #201 Central/Ridge buses will operate via Rogers, Sheridan, Howard, back to Rogers to the Howard Terminal, then resume the regular route.

Belmont Avenue Closes for Track Work Friday Evening
Belmont will be closed between Sheffield and Clark from 9 p.m. Friday, April 20 until 6 a.m. Saturday, April 21. #77 Belmont buses will operate in both directions via Sheffield, Addison, Halsted to Belmont, then resume the regular route.

Red and Purple Line Platform Closes for Howard Terminal Construction Work Over Weekend
From 8 p.m. Friday, April 20 until 2 a.m., Monday, April 23, northbound Red Line customers will exit on the west platform at the Howard station and northbound Purple Line customers will board on the west platform at Howard.

Southbound Red and Purple Line service is not affected.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Blue Line O'Hare Branch Thursday
A single track will be in effect between the Damen and Grand stations from 11 p.m. Thursday, April 19 until 4 a.m. Friday, April 20. All customers at the Division, Chicago and Grand stations must board on the northbound side of the platform.

Street Closures Through Next Week
Canal will be closed between Harrison and Jackson from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, April 21. Northbound #60 Blue Island/26th buses will operate via Harrison, Jefferson, Jackson to Canal, then resume the regular route.

Van Buren will be closed between Wacker and Canal, and Canal will be closed between Harrison and Jackson from 5 a.m. Monday, April 23 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 25. #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick, #38 Ogden/Taylor, #60 Blue Island/26th, #125 Water Tower Express, #132 Goose Island Express, #156 LaSalle, #157 Streeterville and #192 U of Chicago Hospitals Express buses will be rerouted around the closures.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Blue Line O'Hare Branch Over Weekend
A three-phase single track will be in effect between the Jefferson Park and Montrose stations from 11 p.m. Friday, April 20 until 8 a.m. Saturday, April 21. From 11 p.m. Friday, April 20 until 2 a.m. Saturday, April 21, all customers at the Montrose station must board on the northbound side of the platform.

From 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday, all customers at the Jefferson Park and Montrose stations must board on the northbound side of the platform. From 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. Saturday, all customers at the Montrose station must board on the northbound side of the platform.

Another three-phase single track will be in effect between the Montrose and Belmont stations beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday, April 21 until 10 a.m. Sunday, April 22.

From 10 p.m. Saturday, April 21 until 2 a.m. Sunday, April 22 all customers at the Irving Park station must board on the northbound side of the platform. From 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, all customers at the Irving Park, Addison and Belmont stations must board on the northbound side of the platform. From 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday, all customers at the Irving Park station must board on the northbound side of the platform.

Late Night Single Track in Effect in Red Line Subway Next Week
A single track will be in effect between the Roosevelt and Lake stations from 11 p.m. Monday, April 23 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 24 and again in the same location, during the same hours Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, April 24, April 25 and April 26. All customers at the Roosevelt, Harrison, Jackson, Monroe and Lake stations must board on the southbound platform.

#10 Museum of Science & Industry Bus Extends Weekend Hours through April 29
To accommodate longer spring break hours at the Museum of Science & Industry, there is more frequent and later service on the #10 Museum of Science & Industry route. #10 buses are operating every 15 minutes through Sunday, April 29.
