Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between 87th and 69th Streets from 11 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday and again in the same location from 11 p.m. Saturday until noon on Sunday.
Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Monday through Next ThursdaySingle track service will be in effect northbound between 33rd and 15th Streets from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, September 20 and Tuesday night, September 21; and southbound in the same location Wednesday night, September 22 and Thursday night, September 23.
Customers should allow extra travel time.
Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, CTA trains are using by-pass tracks between 92nd and 96th Streets until late September.
CTA trains also are using by-pass tracks between 52nd and 56th Streets until early November.
Customers will continue to board trains at their normal stations.
Granville Avenue Closes for Construction at Red Line Viaduct Beginning Friday NightGranville Avenue will be closed at the Red Line from 9 a.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, September 20. #N201 Central/Sherman Night buses will operate in both directions via Sheridan, Bryn Mawr, to Broadway, then resume the regular route. The Granville station, which is accessible, will remain open while the work is being completed.
Cermak Closes for Railroad Crossing Work Beginning Saturday MorningCermak will be closed just west of Harlem from 5 a.m. Saturday through Friday, September 24. Westbound #21 Cermak, #X21 Cermak Express and #25 West Cermak buses will operate in both directions via Cermak, Harlem, 25th, Ring Road, into the terminal at North Riverside Park Mall, where they will begin their eastbound trips via Ring Road, 25th, Harlem, back to Cermak, then resume the regular route.
Cottage Grove and 87th Street Close for Parade SaturdayCottage Grove will be closed between 87th and 83rd, and 87th will be closed between Cottage Grove and Chappel from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday for the 8th Ward Back to School Parade.
#4 Cottage Grove buses will operate in both directions via Cottage Grove, 87th, King, 79th, back to Cottage Grove, then resume the regular route.
#14 Jeffery Express and #15 Jeffery Local buses will operate in both directions via Jeffery, 93rd, Colfax, Anthony, back to Jeffery, then resume the regular route.
#28 Stony Island buses will operate in both directions via Stony Island, 93rd, Colfax, Anthony, 83rd, back to Stony Island, then resume the regular route.
#87 87th buses will operate in both directions via 87th, King, 83rd, Anthony, back to 87th, then resume the regular route.
King Drive Closes for Parade SaturdayKing Drive will be closed between 99th and 112th Streets from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. for the 9th Ward Back to School Parade. Eastbound #111 Pullman/111th/115th buses will operate via 111th, Michigan, back to 115th, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via 111th, Cottage Grove, 115th, Michigan, back to 111th, then resume the regular route.
Longer Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats Football SaturdayThe Northwestern Wildcats host the Kansas Jayhawks at 1 p.m. Saturday. Longer Purple Line trains will begin operating at 11 a.m. and after the game as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line's Central station in Evanston.
Additional Service Provided for Navy Pier Fireworks on Saturday NightsAdditional buses will operate on the #29 State, #66 Chicago and #124 Navy Pier bus routes for spectators attending the fall fireworks displays at Navy Pier at 9 p.m. Saturday nights through October 30. The last #124 bus leaves the pier at midnight. The last #29 and #66 buses leave the pier at 12:20 a.m.
Half-Marathon Closes Several South Side Streets SundayThe Chicago Half-Marathon will close several South Side Streets from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday. Closures will affect Lake Shore Drive between 35th and 57th Streets, Stony Island between 57th and 63rd Streets, and Midway Plaisance between Stony Island and Ellis.
Northbound #6 Jackson Park Express and #14 Jeffery Express buses will operate via 67th, Cottage Grove, 35th, King, Cermak, Michigan to Balbo, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Michigan, Balbo, Columbus, Lake Shore Drive, 31st, King, 35th, Cottage Grove, 67th, then resume the regular route.
Southbound #10 Museum of Science and Industry buses will operate via Michigan, Cermak, King, 55th, to Hyde Park Boulevard where they will begin their northbound trips via Hyde Park, 51st, King, Cermak, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route.
#15 Jeffery Local buses will operate in both directions via 67th, Cottage Grove, to 51st, then resume the regular route.
#28 Stony Island buses will operate in both directions via 67th, Cottage Grove, to 47th, then resume the regular route.
#55 Garfield buses will operate in both directions via 55th, Hyde Park, 53rd, Lake Park, back to 55th, then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #63 63rd buses will operate via 63rd, Woodlawn, 64th, Blackstone, back to 63rd, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Blackstone, back to 63rd, then resume the regular route.
#171 U. of Chicago/Hyde Park buses will operate in both directions via 55th, Woodlawn, 53rd, Lake Park, back to 55th, then resume the regular route.

Diversey Closes for Sewer Work Beginning TuesdayDiversey will be closed at Wolcott from 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 21 until2 p.m. Friday, September 24. #76 Diversey buses will operate in both directions via Diversey, Ashland, Fullerton, Clybourn, back to Diversey, then resume the regular route.
