Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of March 31 - April 2

Brown Line Capacity Expansion Project:
CTA is working to expand capacity on the Brown Line. When the work is completed, customers will benefit from longer trains during rush hour, and accessible, modern stations and platforms.

Throughout the Brown Line construction project, slow zones and single track operation are periodically necessary near construction activity so, as a general rule, rail customers should allow extra travel time.

Kimball and Francisco Stations to Remain Open Over Weekend
The Kimball and Francisco stations will remain open this weekend March 31 ? April 2, changing the previously announced temporary station closure to a single track operation. A Brown Line shuttle train will operate on a single track between Kimball and Western stations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2 making stops northbound and southbound at Kimball, Francisco and Western. There will be no weekend bus shuttle service. After 6 p.m., Brown Line trains will resume regular operations from Kimball to the Loop.

Dearborn Bridge over Chicago River Closes Friday
The Dearborn Bridge over the Chicago River will temporarily close from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, March 31 for testing. The closure will affect northbound buses on the #22 Clark, #36 Broadway and #62 Archer routes.

#22 buses will operate via Dearborn to Wacker, State to Hubbard, back to Dearborn, then resume the regular route.

#36 buses will operate via Dearborn to Wacker, State to Illinois, then resume the regular route.

#62 buses will operate via Dearborn to Wacker, LaSalle, Kinzie to State, then resume the regular route.

State Street and Wabash Avenue Close for Helicopter Lift Saturday
State Street will temporarily close between Congress and Van Buren, and Wabash will temporarily close between Congress and Jackson Saturday, April 1 from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. for a helicopter lift. The closure will affect buses on the #6 Jackson Park, #29 State, #36 Broadway, #62 Archer, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express routes.

Southbound #6, #36 and #62 buses will operate via State to Madison, Clark, Congress, back to State, then resume the regular route. Northbound service is not affected.

Northbound #29 buses will operate via Congress to State, Dearborn, Jackson, back to State, then resume the regular route. Southbound #29 buses will operate via State to Madison, Clark, Congress, back to State, then resume the regular route.

Northbound #146 and #147 buses will operate via Congress to State, Dearborn, Jackson, back to State, then resume the regular route. Southbound #146 and #147 buses will operate via State to Madison, Clark, Congress, back to State, then resume the regular route.

Shamrock Shuffle Race May Cause Intermittent Service Delays Sunday Morning
The LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle 8-K Run may cause intermittent service delays on 21 CTA bus routes Sunday, April 2. Participants will assemble at Columbus/ Congress at 8:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9:30 a.m. The race course is north on Columbus to Grand, west to State, south to Jackson, west to Clinton, south to Van Buren, east to Michigan, south to Roosevelt, east to Columbus and north to the finish on Columbus south of Balbo.

Buses on the #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #12 Roosevelt, #14 Jeffery Express, #20 Madison, #22 Clark, #29 State, #36 Broadway, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island/26th, #62 Archer, #65 Grand, #66 Chicago, #124 Navy Pier, #126 Jackson, #145 Wilson/ Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan routes will be affected by the race.

Halsted Closes for Greek Independence Parade Sunday
Halsted will be closed between Randolph and Van Buren from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, April 2. The closure will affect buses on the #8 Halsted, #20 Madison and #126 Jackson routes.

Northbound #8 Halsted buses will operate via Halsted to Harrison, Jefferson, Fulton, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Halsted to Fulton, Desplaines, Harrison, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.

Eastbound #20 buses will operate via Madison to Racine, Lake, Desplaines, Washington, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Madison to Jefferson, Lake, Racine, back to Madison, then resume the regular route.

Eastbound #126 buses will operate via Harrison, Jefferson, Jackson, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Clinton to Harrison, Ashland, then resume the regular route.

Western Closes for Assyrian Parade Over Weekend
Western will be closed between Peterson and Pratt, and Devon will be closed between California and Ridge from noon until 3 p.m. Sunday, April 2. Northbound #49B North Western buses will operate via Western, Peterson, California, Lunt, back to Western, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Western, Lunt, California, Devon, back to Western, then resume the regular route.

#155 Devon buses will operate in both directions via Devon, California, Lunt, Ridge, back to Devon, then resume the regular route.

Late Night Single Track on Blue Line O'Hare Branch Sunday
Single track service will be in effect between Cumberland and Harlem from 10 p.m. Sunday, April 2 until 4 a.m. Monday, April 3 for maintenance work.

Red Line - Dan Ryan Branch Rehabilitation:
CTA is working to replace track, power and signal systems and upgrade stations along the branch. When the work is completed, customers will experience more reliable service and modern station amenities.

Late Night Single Track Thursday Night
Single track service will be in effect between 69th and 79th from 11 p.m., Thursday, March 30 until 4 a.m. Friday, March 31.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Late Night Single Track Over Weekend
Single track service will be in effect between Garfield and 33rd from 8 p.m. Friday, March 31 until 8 a.m. Saturday, April 1 and again in the same location from 8 p.m. Saturday, April 1 until noon Sunday, April 2.

Customers should allow extra travel time.
