EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 25 – 27

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next Monday and Wednesday Due to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between 79th and 69th Streets from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, June 28 and southbound during the same hours in the same location Wednesday night, June 30.

Customers should allow additional travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the Dan Ryan Red Line reconstruction, CTA trains are using by-pass tracks between 62nd and 58th Streets until late August.

CTA trains will continue to use by-pass tracks between 43rd and 45th Streets until mid-July.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal station locations.

Michigan Avenue Bridge Over the Chicago River Closes for Repairs TonightThe Michigan Avenue bridge over the Chicago River will be closed from 10 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, June 25. Northbound buses on the #3 King Drive, #26 South Shore Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan will operate via Wacker, State, Ohio, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Ontario, State, Lake, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route.

McFetridge Closed for Construction until Further NoticeMcFetridge is closed between Columbus and Museum Campus Drive from now until further notice. Southbound/Eastbound #12 Roosevelt, #127 Northwestern/Madison, #130 Grant Park Treasures and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate via Roosevelt/Columbus, 18th, Museum Campus Drive, and Solidarity Drive to the Adler Planetarium. Northbound/Westbound buses will leave the Planetarium via Solidarity Drive, Museum Campus Drive, McFetridge (open to westbound bus traffic only), back to Roosevelt/Columbus, then resume the regular route.

Additional Service Provided for Taste of ChicagoVisitors to Taste of Chicago in Grant Park, Friday, June 25 through Sunday, July 4 will find CTA service the most effective way to travel. Longer trains will operate into the Loop until late every night. Additional buses will be available toward the close of each evening's activities to carry customers home.

More extensive service will be available Saturday evening, July 3 for spectators going to Navy Pier or Grant Park to watch the fireworks display. Customers attending Taste and the fireworks are encouraged to purchase Transit Cards in advance to avoid waiting in lines to purchase cards for their trips in and out of the downtown area.

Evanston Streets Close for Fountain Square Arts Festival Beginning FridaySherman between Elgin and Davis, and Church between Benson and Orrington will be closed from 5 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday, June 28 for the Fountain Square Arts Festival. Southbound #201 N Central/Ridge Night buses will operate via Sherman, Elgin, Chicago, Davis, back to Sherman, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Southbound #205 Chicago/Golf buses will operate via Church, Benson, Elgin, back to Chicago, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Gay and Lesbian Pride Fest and Parade Close Halsted Beginning SaturdayHalsted will be closed from Addison to Grace, including the CTA bus terminal at Halsted/Waveland from 3 a.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday for Pride Fest. Northbound #8 Halsted buses will operate via Addison, Broadway, Clarendon, Irving Park, Broadway to Waveland, where they will begin their southbound trips via Broadway, Addison, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.

On Sunday, Halsted will be closed between Fullerton and Broadway for the Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade. The closure will be in effect from 11 a.m. until approximately 7 p.m. Buses on the #8 Halsted, #22 Clark, #36 Broadway, #76 Diversey, #77 Belmont, #151 Sheridan and #152 Addison routes will be rerouted to adjacent streets for the duration of the parade.

During the parade buses will not operate on Broadway from Diversey to Irving Park; Halsted from Fullerton to Waveland; Diversey from Sheffield to Lake Shore Drive; Addison from Clark to Lake Shore Drive; Sheridan from Belmont to Fullerton; and Belmont from Sheffield to Lake Shore Drive.

Additionally, on Sunday, extra service will be provided on the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express route from 11 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. between Belmont and Montrose Beach for parade participants and spectators attending the Rocks Festival at the beach.

The parade will disband in Lincoln Park on Cannon Drive between Diversey and Fullerton.

Additional Service Provided for Chicago Fire Soccer Game Saturday NightAdditional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes for the Chicago Fire soccer game against the Los Angeles Galaxy at Soldier Field Saturday night. The game begins at 6 p.m. The additional bus service will begin at 3:30 p.m. and continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.

Race to the Taste May Cause Minor Service Delays Sunday MorningThe ?Race to the Taste 5K Race? will close Balbo between Michigan and Columbus from 5 a.m. until 11 a.m. Sunday. Northbound Michigan between Balbo and Roosevelt, and westbound Roosevelt between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive also will be closed from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Participants will step off at 8:30 a.m. proceeding west on Balbo to the northbound lanes of Michigan, south to the westbound lanes of Roosevelt, east to Columbus to the lakefront path and the Museum Campus path, turn at Jackson, south on the lakefront path, north to Balbo and west to the finish line at Columbus. Buses operating along any of these streets may experience minor service delays for the duration of the race, but no reroutes are necessary.

Racine Closes for Sewer Work Beginning MondayRacine will be closed southbound only between Taylor and Roosevelt from 8 a.m. Monday, through 3 p.m. Thursday, July 1. Southbound #60 Blue Island/26th buses will operate via Racine, Harrison, Loomis, Roosevelt, back to Racine, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.
